I've been listening to some newer Peter Frampton and ran across this song. Wow! I was a fan back in the Live days, but this song shows how really good he is. Give it a listen all the way through.

Love this. Years ago, when he joined a young David Jones’ band, the future David Bowie remarked, “Now we have our own Jeff Beck.”
P.S. I wish TeleThom were still around to hear this.

Mostly play Fender guitars and amps. I'm 71 and have had a guitar since 1964. Got serious in 1975.

In this category I'm thinking Joe Walsh. Maybe it's because I'm such an Eagles fan.

Showcases talent?
Johnny Ramone -- Read an interview years ago which has served as an inspiration to be ever since.
"I knew I'd never be Jeff Beck."

To me, Steve shows most of his influences and where he was going to take them in this early performance.

Lazy, Deep Purple, Blackmore at his best. Another obscure one that I've not heard in awhile.

I'm not an Eagles fan but I do like Joe. Joe was never flashy but he always knew exactly what to play.

Little Charlie Baty (RIP) That's a new one on me. He's very reminiscent of Brian Setzer. I love the SHB Tele with P90s.

Here's an example from one of the best guitarists on the planet. While Brad Paisley is famous for his virtuosity and ability to play in 64ths with proficiency, he is extremely versatile and can play ANY style with ease. This song has more of a rock flavor and showcases his touch/feel and amazing dexterity. I suspect by the name and style, it's a tribute to Eric Johnson. He's recorded similar tributes to Chet Atkins, Les Paul, and others.

To me, Steve shows most of his influences and where he was going to take them in this early performance. I remember this video, it's very good. Howe was always my favorite rock player and pointed me to jazz all those years ago.. But his chicken head bobbing always cracked me up. Speaking of which, interesting boots Chris, and what in the world is that thing Jon is playing?

I agree with the head bobbing and boots. Chris's playing is fantastic. I dig Steve's ES-175D and the Fender amps!

The first time I heard Albert Lee play (with Emmylou Harris) my mind was blown.
