Wow, that was unexpected. I've been drooling over used Les Pauls on the market, then saw a Jazzmaster, a great deal but visually kind of a dog. The search continued until I stumbled over an irresistable color combination ...
Fender 62 AVRI Jazzmaster in Ocean Turquoise with gold anodized metal pickguard, cream pickup covers and knobs, and a gold plated Mastery bridge.
My first Jazzmaster. I will post pics when it gets here.

That sounds great!
I pieced one together, last year, and it was my first. Love it!

If I were to continue manically collecting guitars, a fiesta red Jazzmaster with block inlays would be on my list.

Auf, even with this new guitar, I'm still one short of all my fingers and toes. So I'm still not a maniac, right?

Oooh, I still have 4 digits to fill, and that's counting bass, mando, lapsteel.

Well, you can always count arms, legs, nose and well, other appendages. 🤣

But btt, why "visually kind of a dog"? Is it the color or gold anodized pickguard or both?
Oops, I mistook the comment.

Now you just need a Bass VI to go with it.

Right before the pandemic hit I bought a 60th Anniversary Jazzmaster. It’s my number one now! I love the big fat tones of the neck pup! The bridge pup is a blast! Enjoy your jazzy!

Congrats!
My first “good” guitar was a Jazzmaster, in 1973. I eventually sold it, and have been tempted by various incarnations since then (as well as Jaguars, which I also had for a while).
Fender offsets are cool guitars, in my opinion.

The new Jazzmaster is here, and I've made it my profile pic! The setup was wonky when it arrived--the neck bowed, the action high, and the bridge too low. The seller alleged that he lowered the bridge to ship. Who does that? But I've sorted those things, and the guitar plays well. Sounds great. The bridge pup is a Seymour Duncan P90 for Jazzmaster, and it's not as chimey/sparkley as I associate with a JM. But it sounds ballsy with plenty of brightness, if needed.

Congrats. I had a Japanese made JM for awhile. Don't know why I sold it, but I should have kept it.

Do you plan on leaving the bridge pickup as is ? Great question! I will put in some time on this guitar before deciding on whether to drop in a Lollar JM pup or something else. First, I have to fix some sporadic cutting out of the signal at the pickup switch and neck slider switch. Hopefully, Deoxit will do the trick because I don't have my soldering iron with me.
I don't think this guitar was played recently, based on the issues. I think I can resolve them, however.

Deoxit does it again... no scratchies or cut-outs. I may further tweak the setup (intonation, neck curve, bridge height) over time.
