Wilford Brimley
Dead at 85
On acting:
“I can’t talk about acting,” he said. “I don’t know anything about it. I was just lucky enough to get hired.”
On being an onscreen "hottie"
"I’m never the leading man,” he told The Dallas Morning News in 1993. “I never get the girl. And I never get to take my shirt off."
On eating oatmeal:
"It's just the right thing to do".

How Barbara Bush got her pic on the box of Quaker Oats, I'll never know.
RIP Mr. Diabeetus.

I always enjoyed Brimley's acting. His performances were "authentic" to me. He could play a lot of character types and get away with it. I fondly remember him in the remake of "The Thing", one of my favorite sci-fi horror films.
