I'm not a gold guy but that's pretty sharp.

It looks heavy to me -- no mention of weight in the ad.

That is one beautiful top. It’s amazing what the custom shops put out these days . I bet it’s heavy though . Love my SG , one of Gibson’s finest design.

I do love a great SG. What blows my mind about these uber-premium SGs is that crap plastic plate they slap on between the neck pickup and the end of the neck. It's there to hide the joint where the neck's tenon fits into the body; it looks like a total afterthought and it's completely out of place on a guitar like these. All that craftsmanship and attention to detail, and they cheap out and put that on the guitar. It's the same as the trailer-park bling of the 'Custom Made' plate Gibson puts on some of their Bigsby-equipped archtop guitars: It's there to cover the two holes where the usual stop tailpiece goes...but that's the best they can do on a $2500 guitar? Weird.

Thanks, guys. The only problem with having such a beautiful guitar is that I'm afraid to take it out of the house and damage it.

Weird. Agree...I've always shook my head over those 2 cheap "fixes". Hell on the SG they just might have well put 2 more frets on to make it 24 with a floating extended fingerboard covering things up and not needed that cheap looking plastic. For the Bigsby you'd think they'd call out a shop order for a no stoptail undrilled top. Seems too easy I guess.

RE: the 24 fret solution on a SG.
They did that on some Tribs. I have one w/P90s and 24 frets. It’s one of the ‘50s Tribute “Prototype” models - Prototype since there never was a ‘50s SG.
