If people want to "have" something of mine, I would prefer that they have my front or my side...if only for a change of pace.
I'm utterly tired of having them tell me they "have my back"...

I get so tired of "If you know what I mean"... if you know what I mean.

More of a neologism than a cliche, but my teeth grind a little when I see/hear someone use "unpack", like "that's a lot of information to unpack".
😐

Unpack
As in "there is a lot in that statement to unpack"
Do you mean there are matters that need to be discussed ?

I came to within a hair's breadth of having to evacuate due to raging wildfires this week, so "having to unpack" actually sounds pretty damn good t'me.
On the other hand, if people would just stop talking about "coming to within a hair's breadth"...

"It is what it is." People don't say, "my nose is my nose". It's unneeded and superfluous. It's just something to say when there is nothing to say.

I personally don't have a problem with "It is what it is". And that's just the way it is. Que sera, sera.
Although it may sound groovier in Latin.

Not a cliche, but rather, well, a term, I guess. Can we please knock off using "fur babies" to describe the dogs?
Please? I doubt the dogs like it any better than I do.

For me- “six of one, 1/2 dozen of another” makes my skin crawl.

I'll reach out to y'all when I come up with a phrase that is played out. Well I'd say "beating a dead horse" has been spurred to death.

For me- “six of one, 1/2 dozen of another” makes my skin crawl. I used to work with a woman who would say, "six of one, a dozen of another". She wasn't real bright.

This house is so "cookie-cutter!"
Hey lady, that's your job to do something about that. Every canvas is "cookie cutter" -- square and white -- until the artist goes to work.

"If you build it, they will come."
Well, I built it, they didn't come and now the city wants me to pay for a permit.
