Lately I've been thinking about these type of amps and thought I'd like to have one in my collection but, I'm not sure which would be best. I thought a '65 twin reverb would be nice but, I don't see them new anywhere. It also might be a bit of overkill as I mostly use my amps at home. So, I thought I might ask what's popular around here as far as Fender's are concerned or any other make, for that matter. I was going only include Fender's but, they seem to be limited in their selection. Something with a clean tone that can get dirty, with reverb. Tremolo would be OK but, not necessary. What does everybody got and why do you like it?

I have a pair of Fender Vibro Champs. One is stock, (although the caps have been replaced), and the other one had a fried circuit board... so I built a turret board and hand wired it myself.
I would challenge you to spot the difference between the two.
Having said that, Dr. Z makes a fine product.
Let your ears be your guide, because the electrons don't know that it's handwired.
P. S.
A Twin would definitely be overkill for home use.

I, too, have a late 70’s vibro champ. Great amp.
The current trend is for small under 10 watt amps (which are great for home use and recording).

Why Hand-wired?
I have multiple amps that I rotate in and out of my practice and gig rotation. A 1974 Black-faced non-master volume Fender Pro Reverb (That makes me say JTM45 who??) a 1975 Black-faced Master volume Twin Reverb that's dead quiet and is a chicken picker's wet dream, a 1969 Ab165 Basemen head running through a 2x12 cab w/Texas Heats, modded w/ mid pots for both channels, I could write a book on how good that amp sounds. A Hand-wired Weber Double Deluxe (5e3x2... powered by 4 6v6s, touch-sensitive, clean to saturated overdrive with the turn of the guitar's volume knob. That amp just rocks!
And more than hanging with those horses, due to being fun to play, very versitle, reliable, and sounding great in their own right: A modded Blues Jr II and a slightly moded HRDeluxe III. A little experimentation w/ tubes and Aft speakers, little experience working with the amp's EQ... I've learned to dial those two amps into what I really like. I really enjoy those two amps.
Hand-wired is great.. but for me, not really a deal-breaker in what I think makes a decent amp.

black face pro reverb is half the power of a twin and is still a 2x12 amp. been my fav amp for decades hand wired is the only way i go circut board is nightmare ti work on. you have ti unsolder the entire board and pulll it to change a resistor

My guitar student has that Vintage 15. Sucker is loud! He can't even turn it up enough to get break-up, and he's set up in his re-done garage. Very nicely built, trem is great.
