I was watching The Who 1982 concert footage on YT last night and Pete was playing a gold Schecter. It looked pretty cool.
Anyone who ever play or own one?

I had the import version a few years ago. The neck felt scrawny, but it was a tone monster. I particularly loved the bridge pickup into a Marshall. It had an extra-snotty midrange.
I was prowling a USA made PT earlier this year. Some day I’ll land one of those.

This Schecter hangs in my music room. (Ignore all the finger prints, it's actually in near mint condition) Not a PT model, but a pretty nice instrument none the less. DSC_2301 by Larry Madsen, on Flickr It actually belongs to my Son JC.

I remember Mark Knopfler used them at one time, early/mid '80s maybe. They were a cool guitar to have; we had a local dealer who sold only high end brands. Then they seemed to fade away.

I saw some new USA PTs on Reverb this year. I was surprised.

I'm very happy with my $800ish Shechter V, wasn't sure I'd get along with the pickups but they're very decent faux PAFs, not screaming high output monsters (as much as I love high output monsters).
Fits the voice of the wood on it very very well.
