We used Toboggan in Michigan but my recollection is there was a distinction: Toboggans didn't have metal rails. Portage > Portage (Pour-tahj vs Pour-tidge) I can't remember, do Canadians say "he went to hospital" or "the hospital"? That one always struck my Yank ear funny.

He went to the hospital. ✅ She’s going to university this fall. ✅

CAN US 26er A fifth I could make an old joke about traditional Canadian attitudes towards American beer, but the craft trend has pretty much put an end to that old rivalry. Peegoo 🏁... "Dep" is pretty much a Quebec thing. It short for the French word "depanneur," which can also mean someone who helps you out, like a repairman.

Pitter Patter, let's get at 'er. / Hurry up. If you don't get at it when you get to it, you won't get to it to get at it again.

Grew up saying "pop" instead of soda in Michigan. Now that you are in Texas, know this: "Everything is Coke" . i.e. instead of saying soda machine it is commonly called "Coke Machine" as a generic term for soda or pop LOL
