About a week after landing the Dot I found this Electromatic 5622LH in Georgia Green on Reverb. It was marked down as a demo model. I put it on my watch list. A day or so later the shop tossed me an offer I couldn't refuse. It is like new. Not a mark on it.
Of course the pots are backwards, but it's a great guitar. Frets are very nice. I like the BTs in this one, so those stay.

I love it! Great color. That is a semi Hollow right? So tell me how does it play and sound?

Yes, this is a center block guitar.
The BTs, to my ears, are the most humbucker-like pickups Gretsch offers - in my limited experience. They sound pretty clear and, well, broad.
I haven’t done a comparison with my Dot yet. I need to do that some day.
It plays great. I don’t know if there’s a difference in fretwork between the Stramliners and the Electromatics, but this one has nice feet ends. I haven’t found any issues playing it, but I also haven’t taken my fret rocker to it. And I probably won’t.

In my humble and backwards opinion... nobody does green as well as Gretsch.

Does "backwards" mean the tone pots aren't working properly (more like on/off switches with little or no "sweep")?
Just curious...as I'm waiting to hear from G&L if they will fix the pots on my new guitar (or pay for them to be fixed)...

Don’t know about the USA models.

I have a Center Block White Falcon, and it's amazing.
Non-trem version, just like I wanted.
It does great in a live setting even with high gain. No feedback unless that's your intent, then it sings nicely and the pitches and overtones are controllable depending on the angle it's facing the amp.
Like!

I’d love a White Falcon.
In green.

What's the difference between the Streamliner and the Electromatic 5622LH? I can't see anything on the surface.

That is a great question.
I’m not sure what differentiates them. And I didn’t manage to suss it out from the Gretsch website.

Great price. I’ve been looking at those long and hard since they started popping up. Beautiful to me and there’s always something classy and classic about a Gretsch.
good on ya

I spent some quality time with this yesterday (I'm on staycation this week). I found the greatest tone ever. Using the "Clean" rig in my Spark, I removed the boost, in front of the amp, and dropped a Tube Screamer in its place - gain dialed back. It does that warm clean thing really well. It sounds so rich with this guitar.
I peeled the protective plastics off all the bits and bobs. This guitar is a keeper. I need to try the Dot through that setup.

I liked their description: Whether you play country, rockabilly, polka -
Can't forget polka!
That's a sharp looking guitar.

Probably shouldn't have bought it but it has been slightly over 10 months since I retired and between back issues ( that started a month later after retirement) being 68 Diabetic, pandemic since March, I have literally been inside for 85-90% of the time and 4 walls started to get to me. This 2 delay on spine surgery happened September 21st when Pre-Op test showed MRSA in nose I guess I needed a pick me up. Polka, LOL Don't think it will be playing that one but you never know

One of our local cable stations has a polka hour every day. My neighbor plans her day around it.
I understand the 4 walls deal. My brother says me and my Dad are the 2 safest people to be around. Me because I don't go anywhere and my Dad because he's an old germaphobe.
I hope the rest of this year finds you in better health. You need to be around long enough for your new guitar to be considered vintage!

Heck I am old enough to be a great grandfather. I was 37 and wife 35 when my daughter our 2nd child was born. I peeked in her 1st grade door on her first day and waived at her and another kid asked her "Is that your grandfather" as my hair and beard was salt and pepper at that time. Now what little I have is white LOL
