I'm really tired of seeing people wearing masks. I went to pick up my granddaughter from my X and my X was wearing a mask. She just got back from picking up a pizza for the kids. In her house no one was wearing masks.
Will we ever go back to 12/01 2019?
I sure as heck hope so
Although it hasn't happened it is a good time to rob banks, just saying. If you do figure out a way to defeat the bullet proof glass entrance doorways. You know the double doors where they capture you.
A good mask and some sun glasses will fool any facial recognition software.

A never wear a mask while I'm walking the dogs (pretty much every day): I just don't come within 12'-15' of anybody. People will wave enthusiastically at me, but I have no idea who they are because they have a mask on.
Yeah, I'm sick of it too. IWhen I go indoors at a place of business, I wear a mask. But that's it.
At 71, I'm probably more "at risk" than most of the people I see outdoors. So far, I haven't gotten sick. That's just one person's anecdote: I don't pretend that it's scientific. Only other thing I'll add is that I've always been an obsessive hand-washer. Before she married, my mother was pre-med specializing in bacteriology, so she drilled that into me.

However, (while it may not be your intent and I am sure it is not) this struck me as "go ahead and telegraph people how to pull it off more successfully". Not meant to be inflammatory, just struck me as odd to say". Okey, back to peace and quiet.

As a 70yo with cancer, I appreciate anyone who's coming near me to wear a mask. COVID would probably kill me.

Our current existence seems to have become surreal. I can imagine having a toss-turned night where those bits of dreams come and go. Like this:
Everyone is wearing a mask ... well .. not everyone, and not all the time. There is scene in the dream where the protagonist is sitting at the breakfast table, frantically paging through the Daily Times, trying to find "The Guide," that will reveal the rules for today.
Masks always, but not necessarily in the open, yet maybe so. Depends on the distance. Definitely while waiting in line to get into the grocery store, where the dreamer finds himself. He has no idea what he's there to buy, but knows he must get it, before the shelves have emptied. Shoppers hustle out of the store, their shopping carts stuffed with dozens of 10-packs: toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex.
In the next scene of the dream, he is trying to find a restaurant that will serve him. Every time he parks in the lot of a likely looking place, management closes the doors and hangs a sign: "curbside pick up only." But then, across the street, a cafe is setting up tables outside for dining. He waits his turn, but the staff ignores him in order to fumigate and wipe down every surface in sight.
He gives up and stumbles to a Home Depot, where he is accosted by a mask-wearing pan handler asking for hand sanitizer. He turns away as a scene at the entrance unfolds, where a customer is in a shouting match with a security guard: "you can't make me wear a mask, I know my rights!" Others waiting in line watch the events unfold, like antelope at a waterhole, as a lion attacks one of their own.
In the California version of the dream, the weather has turned very hot. Smoke obscures much as if it were fog, and white ash continually falls from the sky: the Devil's dandruff ... the dreamer thrashes, unable to breathe, and wakes to find himself drenched in sweat. A nightmare, then. He staggers to the kitchen. where his grandfather sits at the breakfast table, calling out from behind the newspaper, "it's all masks all the time today. Obey the Wednesday restrictions and remain 8 feet from everyone else. Don't speak unless spoken to. Remain calm and soon we will back to Code Yellow."

I don't like wearing a mask any more than anyone else, but as a 67 year old with stage 4 Heart Failure I wear one when in close proximity to others and I also appreciate others who wear them.

I don’t care for wearing masks either, but if it protects people spreading it to people who could eventually die or get stuck with some longterm side effect of this thing I’m all for it. That person could be someone I love , someone you love ,it could be you or me. I’d rather someone be over cautious than careless. Hopefully this will be over soon.

"Will we ever go back to 12/01 2019?"
It seems like this can be a new way of life, doesn't it? I was getting an EKG at my doctor's office the other week. Laying there in my mask getting hooked up by a tech in a mask. I said to her "I can't wait until we don't have to wear these stupid masks anymore" to which she replied "me too. Do you think that day will ever come?".
I hope so. In my darkest moments I wonder if this will just become a new way of life. I know some people I can see getting stuck in the practice. They'll go grocery shopping. They'll go to the dentist. But they won't even go visit family at a safe distance out on their lawn. Loved ones they haven't seen in over a year.

I'm with MJB, jhawkr, and budg on this subject. Today I see my oncologist who will tell me the results of my PET/CT scan I had last week. Hopefully I am still cancer-free. The cancer and the chemo I had did a number on my immune system. Plus, I had two stents placed in the past year. And I am of an age to have listened to Beatle records when they were new.
I think noses sticking out over masks should be considered indecent exposure.

I'm personally not too concerned about COVID since I live out in the sticks and don't go out much, but I respect those that are. I've had a few contractors and buyers of items we had for sale come to the house lately and when they arrive I ask mask, or no mask? If they prefer to wear one I will as well. If they don't, I just make sure we maintain a comfortable distance.

They are second nature for me at this point, at least at work they are. It goes on at 5:30am at the car and comes off about 2:15pm at the car.
One of our primary tasks at work is to insure compliance with the directive. Just a day ago I had a guy calling me every name in the book and explaining to me that he was going to have me fired. Said he had to have it off for a bit so he could breath ... which is not acceptable. Face covering must be properly worn at all times. Said he had bad asthma. My response, if you have a health condition that does not allow for you to wear the face covering you'll have to leave property and you will be welcome back after this mandate is over with.
Sometimes it gets like that. I hear from people that we have the best compliance of any resort on the Strip, which is good.
This thing isn't easy all the time and it surely isn't fun, but it is the nature of things at the moment.
I sense pressure building against this whole thing ... I guess we just "hide and watch".

No Shoes, No Shirt, No Mask, No Service.
Better get used to it.
I dislike wearing a mask, but I figure if the employees in the stores I go into have to wear them all day long, then I can for the five minutes I'm in there.
What puzzles me are the folks in their cars all alone wearing masks.

I have noticed that the Face ID feature on my iPhone has no problem with sunglasses, but does not register me when I have a mask on.

Let's all keep in mind that opinions as to whether or not wearing a mask is effective are not permitted here, as either/or could be construed as "misinformation" under the ProBoards policy. I'll allow "better safe than sorry" type stuff because those statements assume that the person making them doesn't know if it is or is not effective. Sorry, but that's what we're sticking with here, even after all these months.
But, in terms of K4's original post, saying you are sick of seeing people wearing them (or are sick of wearing one yourself) are perfectly fine. Most of the replies are too, I may have to make a couple edits, for which I apologize in advance.

We're planning to return to Britain end of October, if they'll let us in (2-week quarantine not a problem for us once we get there).
But for the flights, we'll wear masks and eye protection as well.
Maintaining social distancing outdoors should be sufficient so no masks unless it becomes crowded. Indoors, not in our residence, in common areas of our building, Trader Joe's, Costco, shopping in general, masks are mandatory.
(Just trying to stay healthy. Got too much living to do once we get past this - whenever that is.)

As I commented in a previous thread, primates (us included) are generally extremely social animals who do a lot of non-verbal communication with their facial muscles. Having those largely covered interferes with that communication, which (at least in my opinion as a layman) probably lends significantly to our current feelings of isolation and general sense of "unreality".
Consciously or not, many of us who are older and have lost some of our hearing probably do a bit of lip reading when conversing with others: obviously impossible when everyone is masked.
So, on top of being physically uncomfortable and causing your glasses to fog up, the masks may be having other negative side-effects, their primary, intended function (prophylaxis) not withstanding.

So maybe if I get Covid19, I won't die of it.

I was surprised to find out when I got Iphone XS that it's facial recognition could detect even with sunglasses on also (at least certain ones-had one pair it would not work). As far as the Mask goes, I realize the need, mostly to protect others but having my air being already reduced by 25 percent due to cardio vascular issues it gets hard to breath after 30 minutes of wearing one. No way I could be anywhere with 10,000 foot altitude and a mask (at least not without passing out). Hard enough in 2004 at Grand Lake Colorado on vacation. I would have to return to the cabin and lay down with BiPap machine for couple hours if I had been out walking a lot

In Japan it’s always been considered the polite, considerate thing to do. It's funny, every time we go to Disney World we always see contingents from Asia in the airport wearing masks, and it always used to strike us as such an odd thing to see. I guess it won't anymore.

---"Will we ever go back to 12/01 2019?--"
I wish, but I doubt it. I am afraid that 2020 will become a watershed year that separates what was from the new normal. I'm not saying that we will always be masking and distancing, but the events of this year will leave a mark. Between the pandemic and the riots I will never look at some of my neighbors or the government in quite the same light. And it may be that the 21st Century didn't really start until 2020, and these last two decades were just the last gasp of the 20th Century world that we all grew up in, where life at least sometimes sorta made sense. It will take awhile to know. Sorry to be a downer, but I'm really down about it.

I am trying not to be pessimistic but I too am concerned this may be the new normal. Maybe not in totality but many signs point to some facet of what we are experiencing may not ever go away. I mean, Movie Theaters may never regain consciousness again as with other similar type businesses and if they do will they rip out and space seating to diminished sizes. Most Doctor visits relegated to virtual from home. I have had 3 Covid Tests before being admitted for tests or procedures and will have a 4th in about a week and a half. If going to the supermarket I get there at 6am when only seniors are allowed because of being 68 with Diabetes and cannot afford to get this stuff or I will not be able to get surgery at the end of the month.
