Watched some rabbit holes on You Tube. The Old Girl Rocked some Gibsons. I watched her playing an SG. She was rocking for sure . Love her style.

There is a really good American Masters about her. Apparently her *desires* caused many a band member to split.

Oh yeah. When she plays, her energy makes her feet float off the floor.

Did you see Lizzo on SNL recently? Her guitar player in the first song played a 3-pickup white SG Special in tribute to the Sister. I thought that was cool.

Yea, saw Lizzo’s guitarist’s tribute to her. Made me smile. Sister Rosetta stirred up some gospel goodness and early pure rock n’roll. Check this out:

Had not heard of her before reading this thread. I was amazed at how she "set the guitar on fire" with her playing. The SG portion was my favorite. I marveled at her command and ease with the fretboard.

I read a biography of Sister Rosetta a few years back. Apparently, club owners used to bill her with the claim "She plays guitar like a man!"
Based on Sister Rosetta, I wish I could play guitar like a woman.

Over the years, I would occasionally hear something about her, and because she was called “Sister,” I thought she was a nun.
Evidently that’s not the case.
