I had gotten it to watch a few specific shows, and because they offered bundle pricing with Disney Plus.
Having exhausted the content I was interested in, I cut the virtual cord on it.

I just canceled Hulu today too! 🚫
For some reason it was glitchy and we really didn’t save much over AT&T TVNOW so it is gone effective 9/29 and AT&T is back today.

this is the new new and the companies know it
Easy to sign up and easy to quit. I got Netflix to watch Umbrella Academy (highly recommend it!). I was on the fence for a while but I figured I could binge the season in the free 30 day window.
So to keep folks there they create their own content. Netflix is very good at this. HBO has been doing it for years and now Amazon (good selection) and Hulu (for me not so much) are as well. Netflix has enough good content in movies and series that I kept it. HBO comes with my Cable package and I have Prime for shipping and that comes with TV and Music.
Also the same reason they advertise their shows all over the place- to get you to stay and pay the monthly. There may be a show you "must watch" and figure 4 months of paying till you quit again is worth the show- you may not. HBO had a ton of new sign ups for Game of Thrones and a mass exodus when it ended. But I think they kept a lot due to Westworld and movies. This is the business model now and you are not penalized for signing up , quitting and doing it again
use it to your advantage. If you are busier in the summer drop em and save some bucks. Winter comes and you are stuck inside - resign up and binge what you missed. If you are careful you can get the best of both worlds and save some money

Didja watch Letterkenny? If not, you missed out, eh? It's a hoot to watch the Letterkenny outtakes on YT. Not as deadpan as they appear on the show. Pitter patter.
