The woman in the picture, Enid Stafford, is offering Paul 12 shillings for his sandals. As now know, he took the deal in a heartbeat.

Since Paul was wearing sandals, that proves he was not dead, since they bury people barefoot.

Nice photo.
HenryJ, I know you're only joking re the old "Paul is Dead" conspiracy theory, but as a 60 year old Brit, I've never heard of anyone being buried barefoot, and having Googled it, I'm not aware of it ever being common practice here , as is often claimed by the conspiracists ;-)

He said, "they bury...". By "they", he meant "the aliens from outer space".

Has anyone had the occasion to actually play "number nine" backward? To my ears, it's " en myon ndedmun." We used to have a computer with a recording program that allowed you to play stuff backwards. I can't remember exactly which words in the last few lines of "Hotel California" played backward said "Ohhh Sadan say what?" Where many people hear that second word as "Satan."

Has anyone had the occasion to actually play "number nine" backward? Yeah, back in 1969 a friend played it backward by spinning the turntable backward by hand. At just the right speed it did sound like "Turn me on Deadmon" The Deadmon part sorta fast

In pig latin, "number nine" is "umbernay inenay " And "turn me on dead man" comes out as "urntay emay onyay eadday anmay". If you play either of these "latin" phrases backwards (at 29 RPM) you hear George telling John that "Yoko can't carry a tune in a bucket."
Does that help?

"Jesus loves you" backwards kinda sounds like "I smell sausage" if I recall.
