Did a little mixing in Studio One but hadn't recorded anything so wrote a song and tried it out. Definitely a learning curve tracking as well trying to record and it took some learnin to set the zero monitoring latency and configure my interface/sample rate etc to prevent CPU dropouts (which wasn't a thing in audacity). Critiques welcome, the worst (best?) thing about doing all this yourself is having only one set of ears to write/track/mix/master. Leaving You Behind

Nice track man! Love the warmth of the guitar and the interplay when the 2nd one comes in. A little tickle of Pachelbel's Canon at times? Intentional? Seems fitting for a break up song. At first "be true" around 0:46 sounded a little glitchy but it's just the way you articulated it that caught my ear. Good work.

VERY nice tune!
Re: that comment on your Soundcloud page...beware of people that claim they can promote your tunes. Ideally (from their perspective) you give them legal copyright to your work and they run away with it. Don't do it.

Thanks all for comments.
Thanks, yeah I hadn't heard a lot of flatpicking solos over fingerstyle rhythm before so thought the solo was being semi-original, then when I actually listened to the solo after recording it the first thing I thought of was one of the later variations of Canon in D, like the most cliche piece of all time, lol. That's the way it goes in modern music I guess..
I think it needs some volume automation in between words to clean up some of the glitches. Also could probably benefit "comping" the vocals, which I've never done before. I enjoy writing the lyrics/melody, coming up with a rhythm guitar part that complements the melody, then writing a solo over it. I'm not a vocalist and get a little frustrated tracking and editing vocals, so it comes out in the finished product. Of course vocals are all that the listening public cares about so that's great..

beware of people that claim they can promote your tunes Also the ones that want to show you their boobies. They seem to be the first responding "fans" whenever I post a track.
