TS Beta dumping some rain in Texas! We even got a few sprinkles today in Wichita from Beta. Very unusual this far north and west. Hope any coasters here are staying high and dry!

According to my home weather station, we've had almost 11 inches of rain in the past 30 hours or so, but Beta still hasn't really gone over us yet. That was just from the rain bands.
We're supposed to get rain all day tomorrow too as it makes its way over the greater Houston area.
So far all the drains are keeping up.

My sister who lives in North West Houston next to Buffalou Bayou has had to be rescued twice by previous two floods. One more and Fema said they would declare her house unfit for repairs and they would have to either move or if they could afford it build new 5 ft above ground level as most everyone else has had to do. She said she was not going through another Major Hurricane where there is both water and wind damage.

You know it's an active weather year when they run out of letters in the Roman alphabet for names, and have to go into the Greek alphabet.

Yeah, send some of that rain up our way. We're in about the 5th month of a drought. I haven't run out of water in my point well yet but it's bound to happen soon if we don't get some soaking rains.
And the reservoir is so low the lost towns are starting to re-surface.

We’re currently getting Beta’s rain. Supposed to get 3.1 inches. It’s been dry so I’m glad for the rain but after spending the last three days outdoors hiking/hunting/fishing enjoying 75 degree blue sky sunny weather it’s a bit of a bummer to have to go to the gym then sit on the back porch all day watching the rain.
