My brother's dog had a litter of 11. It's like having a daycare center for hyperactive children.

The kind of shenanigans these rascals are known for.

Oh, good gracious, I can't imagine. Back in my LEO days, the K9 crew fell under my domain and I was around those crazy devil dogs all the time. Wore the bite suit a few times too.
Nothing can seek & destroy like a Malinois.

My oldest son has one. He is awesome! A great family dog, but protective like only a Malinois can be.
He actually is the “pack leader” of the pit bull. Go figure.

Hah, yeah all have been sent to their forever homes this past Sunday except 2, one of which they'll be keeping. That'll make 2 momma and baby Malinois and a German Shepherd. Still gluttony for punishment if you ask me. Momma is a trained Schutzhund dog, actually her sire was "Bear", the dog from Person of Interest.

Those are great looking pups.
I’d have a Malinois in a heartbeat if the wife would agree.

I did a screen grab with that pic of a video where the rascals come charging up to the door to be fed. Adorable pups.

I've heard them called "maligators" by military K9 handlers

If you don’t mind my asking, what did he get for a pup? I am not certain, but think about $2k/pup. Which surprises me considering some of the excessive costs of designer breeds. Sis in law handled all of the particulars and is suffering empty nest syndrome, says she'll never do that again.

My son’s Maligator was a rescue. He had been tied under a tree pretty much the first year of his life.
You wouldn’t know it now.

Here's me and the momma when she was just a year or so old. We were down in Tavares Fla and she saw a big wading bird, got scared and jumped in my lap.

Belgian Malinois are handsome animals.
A guy used to bring one to our local dog park. He would only bring it in to ball chase when nobody else was there because the dog was aggressive towards other dogs, especially small ones and suspicious of people. I'm not trying to dis the breed: could've been the individual animal's genes or how it had been trained (or not). Never really talked to the guy so I wasn't able to find out what the dog's history was. The owner was pretty "stand-offish" so the dog might've just picked up on the his mood and acted accordingly: dog's will definitely do that. The owner was a loner (oooh, poetry): I don't think I ever saw him talking to anybody and he always seemed to be by himself (except for the dog).

I'm not a fan of dog parks in general, but I don't think I'd ever take a Malinois to one under any circumstances.

My son’s has been kicked out of every kennel he’s been too. Apparently he’s the hump-monster. 😂
He socializes well with dogs whom he frequently sees. I guess he wants to be king of the kennel.

Momma is a trained Schutzhund dog, actually her sire was "Bear", the dog from Person of Interest. That is pretty cool. Beautiful Dogs! K9 had one at DFW Airport and I did not go near it as it was very protective of the Officer. Some of their dogs were friendly. This one not so much Here's me and the momma when she was just a year or so old. We were down in Tavares Fla and she saw a big wading bird, got scared and jumped in my lap. Aweee, that is cute!

I'm not a fan of dog parks in general, but I don't think I'd ever take a Malinois to one under any circumstances. I hear you, but our dogs are small and there is a large, active, local coyote population, so our dogs wouldn't be safe off-leash outside our fenced yard. The coyotes here routinely decimate the local "outdoor" cat population and numerous dogs have been attacked and/or killed as well. Since they aren't hunted, the coyotes have become bold and don't limit themselves to nocturnal predation. That leaves the dog park as about the only place that the dogs can safely run loose.

We have been trying to decide what breed is next. Our mastiff is 8. Considered malinois, also boxer. I think Mals are awesome. Only problem is our mastiff is such a great dog I dear any other dog will be a disappointment. Thanks for posting

We had a Boxer and I came into her life when she was 9-ish. She was smart and demanding a sweet and still had a fair bit of energy. Young boxers are high, high energy.
All that said, I miss ours. But I don’t know that we’ll have another. I don’t know that we could keep up with another.
When Lady was young she had teenage boys at home. I was told she could run with a 4-wheeler all day long.

We've had our Aussie for 3 years as of today. Our lives would not be near as good without him.

Wow, 11 Mals that is a handful! Beautiful pups. Are they going to spay mama or keep her working?
Sounds like they went to good homes.
Could possibly see having a GSD or Malinois one day. Would need a few more acres for it to make sense.
Currently happy with our wienie and beagle. The beagle is a great size; small enough to take up minimal space on the couch but can still jump into the back of my truck and hike all day.

Are they going to spay mama or keep her working? No, not as long as she's still doing competitions. Currently happy with our wienie and beagle. Dachshunds crack me up. Fearless. There was one video I saw of a whale jumping and doing a massive splashdown. A Doxie on a boat jumped up, leapt off and started swimming toward it like "I'm gonna kick yer azz". Cracked me up and seemed to reflect the personality type of the ones I've met.

Small dog's can have attitude: our chihuahua/rat terrier mix is timid, but the MinPin mix spent time as a Bakersfield street dog before we got her so, even though she only weighs about 15 pounds, she won't hesitate to respond when challenged. What she lacks in size she makes up for with speed, guile and ruthlessness.

Small dog's can have attitude: our chihuahua/rat terrier mix is timid I love dogs but barking chihuahua's get on my nerves. I know people love them but the frequency range of their bark goes through me. Yeah, ours aren't the tiny, "tea-cup" size, so their bark isn't as shrill...but I know what you mean.
There's a real obnoxious "tea-cup" one that comes to our dog park once in awhile. He's a nasty little piece of work: likes to sneak up behind people and bite them in the ankle, completely unprovoked. His owner thinks that's "cute". I've disabused him of that notion in no uncertain terms. I don't want to kick a field goal with his pup, but it could happen if he ever nips at me like that.
He got hold of my pant leg once, but if he ever manages to grab a mouthful of my flesh, he's gonna wish he hadn't. It's amazing how some dog owners are too lazy and inconsiderate to teach their dog(s) the most basic manners, or to at least keep them leashed if they haven't been properly socialized. That certainly doesn't constitute doing any favors for the dog.

My dislike for dog parks goes back to when we first got our dearly departed mini Aussie. She was certainly not an alpha dog and got pinned down once by a bigger dog. She was great with people but skiddish with other dogs with a few exceptions after that. A great deal of people are ignorant when it comes to managing their dogs. Yeah, yeah.. your dog may be a "big baby", but my dog will bite it's nose off if comes charging over unrestrained. Or on a retractable leash from across the street. With traffic coming. 😠

Was there ever a better device invented than the "retractable" leash to teach your dog to pull on the leash while being walked? If so, I don't know what it is. What a useless, ill-conceived piece of equipment...
