I remember the local cover bands from back in my yute would never try to cover a Four Season's song because they were too difficult both vocally and instrumentally. I always liked them. Some not so much but most of them were really high quality musically.

Oh, they had hits even after the British Invasion was happening. "Ronnie," "Rag Doll," "Dawn (Go Away)", all from 1964. I think with the first two of those songs, someone had on obsession with the Ronnettes' lead singer. Her name was Ronnie, and "Rag Doll" had an intro influenced by the Ronnettes' "Be My Baby." I always liked the 4 Seasons' records. Prayers and comfort for the DeVito family.

I never really listened to them. but obviously living in America I absorbed a lot of their songs by osmosis lol. At weddings, in film, etc.
I did see the "Jersey Boys" Broadway show, which was very well done. And the "Boys" sounded very authentic.
RIP Tommy.

Went and saw Frankie Valle last year, doing all the hits, with his band and backup singers. I think he was 82, but still hitting the high notes.

The Four Seasons had an amazing run of hits. Enjoyed the play based on their story. As most recall Tommy had a lot of problems including gambling which resulted in forcing the group to spend years on the road working to pay off his millions in debt. Still they were a fantastic hit making machine. RIP Tommy. All is now forgiven.

From what I read following his death, they had all made their peace with it and they frequently made appearances together. Glad they were able to put it behind them.
