I have a 535 I bought new. It is a keeper. It came with two factory options, one of which is not my preference. The hard tail has fine tuning for each string. This I like even though the Grovers are first rate and the tuning is very stable. The other is a roller bridge which I want to replace. I do not want to modify anything. Anyone care to recommend a conventional bridge? (Nashville style or otherwise) I do not mind paying for something first rate.

Do you have a picture of what is on there, or at least a description of how it mounts? Personally, I'd find something decent that was the path of least resistance and meant not having to yank inserts, or plug and redrill (and this comes from someone who does this stuff frequently and has the tools/skillset). I'm a fan of the Gotohs. They don't have any schmancy sales pitch other than just being well made. Their Nashville style has two flavors, large holes (replaces Epiphone bridges very well) and the small hole. They sound good, they intonate well, they're structurally sound. They are prenotched, though the pre-notches are very shallow... this will be good given that you want to keep the fine tuning tailpiece. None of the Gotoh stuff will break the bank, though even if it was more expensive I'd still choose it over a lot of other options.
I don't think the ABR-1 avenue would make sense if you're keeping the stock tailpiece. IMO, those are a later step in chasing a dragon of full on early Gibson vibe, and if you have other things that are obviously not vintage Gibson, it has little value. Just my own sensibilities.

I put a Tonepros aluminum bridge (seems to only be available at StewCrack) on my LP this summer. It's a very nice piece though in retrospect I probably should've just got the Gotoh and saved the dough; the locking aspect is unnecessary but I did want a quality bridge, which it is. I did buy the Gotoh aluminum tailpiece and it's just fine. My previous experience with them has been with a few sets of tuners which have all been top-notch. Their stuff used to be quite a bit cheaper...

Thank Funky. I will measure post spacing and verify the replacement specs. Thanks again for your time and courtesy. The problem, btw is when changing strings, if you allow any or all rollers to rotate, you change string to string spacing. I can adapt to spacing, nut width and scale on my various guitars, but string to string spacing being off is a no go for me.

Yeah, I don't blame you. That is annoying, for sure. The rollers don't really add all that much to tuning stability since the downward force on the roller holds it still as you play anyway. They always end up sounding a bit flubby which can be nice on a Gretsch or some old janky thing, but not what people are usually going for with those.

Amen Funky. Nothing to add to that. Thanks again.

You could probably secure the saddles where you like 'em with a bit of CA glue or, of course Loctite..

sir Wheat: I agree and thanks. I fear the roller bridge would continue to contribute some "rattling" which I perceive now. Maybe I imagine this, but overall I believe I am losing potential sustain and harmonics. I have a sweet example of this particular guitar. I just don't think it is at full potential.

People are happy with these. Maybe it’ll fit? I have a gold version of that Bridge I got from WD Music. I like it a lot!
