My guilty pleasure: Partridge Family songs. Bring back great memories (of 4th grade) and many songs are darn good. The great drummer Hal Blaine played on a lot of those songs. I've watched a lot of this band's videos on youtube. You might like this one! Thanks!! That was ridiculously well done.

I’ll be showing my age here, but...
I always liked Purple People Eater, and Monster Mash! But never could find the love for Does Your Chewing Gum Lose It’s Flavor On The Bedpost Overnight?
Oh, and plus votes for Sugar, Sugar and Afternoon Delight.

Also, Stairway and My Sharona aren't joke songs in my book Agreed regarding Stairway (aside from the "No Stairway" in the guitar shop joke), by My Sharona is weird lol.

Oh, and plus votes for Sugar, Sugar and Afternoon Delight. Yeah, even though I love the old goofy songs, that Chewing Gum song never appealed to me... along with "I've got A Brand New Pair Of Roller Skates".

Falco' finest:
MacArthur Park is a song that became a joke that no one likes.

I've watched a lot of this band's videos on youtube. You might like this one! Pretty good! This Magic Moment, Dream Lover, Diana, Donna, Great Balls Of Fire, Latest Flame, Monster Mash, Only Make Believe, Runaway, and You Belong To Me. Those bring back good memories. I drove around in my car in 1968-69 listening to a lot of that and people called me "a bubble gummer" but I didn't give a rats about it. Listened to what made me smile.

Thanks!! That was ridiculously well done. Years ago, I was learning how to play "Treat Her Like A Lady" (the version by The Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose), and saw that band Accidental Charm's cover on youtube. What was cool was that toward the end of the song they added a rockin' solo, some creative and recognizable "filler", and then returned to finish.

I'm a fan of taking songs like some 50s Oldies and rocking them up a bit! Years ago a friend gave me a Misfits CD titled "Project 1950" comprised of cover songs done their way. These are the tracks: This Magic Moment, Dream Lover, Diana, Donna, Great Balls Of Fire, Latest Flame, Monster Mash, Only Make Believe, Runaway, and You Belong To Me. Hate to quote myself, but this is actually on youtube! (I'm not a Misfits fan, but I think they did a good job here, and didn't make the songs too crazy.) Whoa... a live version! somehow, the look doesn't match the song...

"My Sharona" might have been cheesy, but it had an absolutely excellent guitar solo. Burton Averre is a guitar badass and is rarely mentioned in guitar circles. That solo smokes. This^

The same guy who sang "Sugar Sugar", Ron Dante, was also the lead vocalist on other Bubblegum tunes. Here's another song I never grow tired of hearing... "Tracy" (Not the original, but from a 2012 show featuring both songs.)

One of my favorite humor columnists before he retired was Dave Barry. However, I had to disagree some of his musical tastes.
When he skewered Bread, Richard Harris's "MacArthur Park," and Neil Diamond's "I Am, I Said," it became hip to dislike those songs and the group Bread. There was even a Wonder Years episode where Winnie gives Kevin a Bread album and he tries hard to appreciate it, but can't.
But I like "MacArthur Park," "I Am, I Said," and the group Bread. If you listen to ClearChannel oldies stations, you can't know that Bread actually had some rockers in their repertoire.

re: My Sharona.
I've known the guy who signed the Knack over at Capitol Records, for at least 50 years. We started in the record business together, me at Columbia, he at Capitol.

I think a lot of the Monkees stuff was great Like when Mickey Dolenz sings Stepping Stone
Or Mike Nessmith plays that Gretch and sings Pap Genes Blues

of course as far as covers go its hard to beat the band that learned to phonetically sing this song in English Obviously i am speaking of Hurra Torpedo- the world's leading kitchen appliance rock group hailing from Norway

Stepping Stone! No joke!
But it was the band that met the joke fate. But in retrospect of course there was some brilliance there.

+1 The Monkees.
If this qualifies, my guilty pleasure has been an Abba song when presented as an encore at a Dan Baird gig:
