Wow there's some great images in this thread!
I was goofing around with my new (to me) MacBook Pro, yesterday, and re-processed some old images in order to learn how this thing works. I always liked this one. Burnside's Bridge at Antietam.

Love the pics! How do you get them to post to full-size?

I took this pic at Antietam last fall. In the foreground is a photo taken right after the battle with dead soldiers on the ground and a church that exchanged hands a couple of times during the battle. In the background is that church. As one is reading the plaque, you become aware that you're standing where those soldiers were lying. It hit me like a ton of bricks.

Eric, I just noticed you posted the Burnside Bridge. Our pics were taken a couple of miles apart. Cool!

Very nice. Where is that? High Falls, NC. Steep hike down a gorge but we ended up having the place to ourselves for a few hours, totally worth it. Didn't get too many bird pics this year but here's a Heron last spring. we were both fishing.. let's just say he had more luck that afternoon..

Leftee, nice bridge shot, and FlyonNylon, love that Heron shot. Nice reflections. The Heron reminds me of the Pterodactyl. LeftyMeister, Cool shot. Fun to study.

Went to a spot a few miles from home today to relax and do a short hike in the afternoon. The trail has a lot of nice falls and other features that I've shot before, so today due to recent winter rains and increased water flowing below I turned off the main trail and hiked up above a small waterfall a couple hundred yards to check out the running water above since it's usually nearly dry in the summer. Tried out the tabletop tripod I got for christmas and it seems to work well. A bit precarious getting the shots but a lot of fun.

I have a bunch of SD cards along with some portable hard drives and would like to find an easy way to get all the photos into one place and be able to catalog and organize them.
Not interested in the cloud at all, I want them stored locally.
Any suggestions?

I just like this one for the subject matter. Not mine; but from my H.S. yearbook. Can't remember this guy's name, either. Hope he doesn't mind.

I, too, would like to know how to get these to post full size... I think the full size thing is only available if you insert the image rather than attaching it. But it will require that the image has a URL, so it has to be sitting on Flickr, etc. All my photos are locally stored and the best I can do is Attache. Of I'm wrong, someone please correct me, I'd also like full size.

Upload to Flickr, then use their BBCode and paste it here. Once pasted, delete everything on either side of the [] img and /img boxes.

For the life of me, I cannot post larger pics from my Pbase hosting site. Can anyone who has posted larger pics from Pbase walk me through it? If I can, I'll replace this post with an actual photo...
"I've described the Flickr method here earlier in the thread."
Saw that CG, and it looks very easy using Flickr; I want to try (with assistance) using my Pbase account if possible. Will open a Flickr account if necessary...

I've described the Flickr method here earlier in the thread. Send me a link to the photo and I'll see if I can't upload it here for you.

View image on your computer. Copy link. Go to insert image in our editing tools. Paste link. And Bob's your uncle.

Folks, the key to using this forum to post images is to host them offsite and use the Insert Image function in the editing tools bar. Use reply, not quick reply to see the editing functions and pick the icon that looks like a little image.

Would this be a good place to ask if anyone has experience with the ARCA Swiss stuff? Trying to decide between that and Manfrotto's RC2. Not for anything too fance beyond qr plates and mounts. Stability is key - I've been shooting film in lower light situations and my little rangefinder only has a 2.8 lens.

I have an RC2 and like it just fine but a couple years ago I bought an Arca-Swiss Monoball p0 with an after market plate to go on my Gitzo 1545. It's a sweet and far more sophisticated set-up but doesn't hold the camera any more steady. The RC2 would work fine in your situation and save you some money to buy more film.
I don't really use the RC2 set-up anymore as I sold the ball head I used it on.

I'm afraid I don't have proper "photographer level" stuff, but I do collect some images that bear a meaning to me.
