...which I hope is a long time from now.
I'd prefer Al Michaels if he were not almost as old as Alex. Michaels was reporting on the OJ White Bronco chase along with, I believe it was Peter Jennings, about 25 years ago. Al showed that he was/is good at thinking on his feet and much more alert and aware than his news-reader sidekick. I think Michaels would have the personality, maturity, and intelligence to run the show.
Someone on the Jeopardy GOAT thread suggested Ken Jennings, the all-time Jeopardy champ (depending on how you look at it). He would probably be pretty good too, and has extensive experience with the show. Smart guy. Yeah, he'd be pretty good, too. And not old like Al Michaels.
I hope it's a long time before Trebek steps down, though. A total class act.
So, who would you like to see hosting Jeopardy as Trebek's successor?

As long as it’s not one of the Kardashians, I’ll probably be OK with it.

Brooke Burns, host of The Chase on Game Show Network. She's experienced. She is really good at running a game show. And, she is better looking than Trebek too.

What they could do is rotate different actors playing Alex Trebek, kinda like the Colonel Sanders role.

Former contestant Austin Rogers. Austin would be a great Jeopardy host, if not a borderline loose cannon. I think they had to edit out some of his shenanigans when he was competing.

It's tough because Alex has that unique blend of charisma, intelligence & broadcasting chops. The person can't be over 50. They really should have some broadcasting/hosting experience. Alex was a DJ in Canada for years before moving to TV. I'd wager it'll be someone we've never heard of.... but if I had to choose right now I'd pick Ken Jennings. He may be nerdy but he speaks clearly, talks fast and obviously has a deep appreciation for the show.

I'd really like to see Mr. Carson from Downton Abbey get the gig. I'd watch.
