...because this is just a scratch recording made at a rehearsal last year. But for a field recorder I thought it was pretty good. The bass always seems to suffer on these type of recordings but with some decent speakers or headphones it sounds ok. Sounds great in my AirPods or on my sound system in my truck. We've since canned the singer for numerous reasons. Yours truly on harp, and I wanted to try to make this a really harp-driven take (it is) even though as a harp-player (in addition to keys) I always try to not overdo it on the harp stuff when playing with any band. But sometimes you just gotta cut loose a little. I'm using a custom built harp mic based on an SM57, a modded-for-harp '59 Bassman LTD and a some cool harp effect pedals. www.dropbox.com/s/ed69uaiyas3744w/Midnight%20Rambler%206-26-2019.wav?dl=0

I bought a Tascam field recorder last year and yet to employ it. I remember years back an FDPer (Flackbase?) posting a tune captured on a field recorder and it was incredibly balanced. I'll give a proper listen when I can.
I played in a band with a front man who played harp through a Bassman/Fender reverb unit. Mississippi saxophone. Throaty would be a good adjective.

K9 just fyi the link wouldn't load for me. I know it's a 74mb .wav file but tried to let it load for about 10min and still wouldn't play.

It loads right up for me (not using app, android). Everything is fairly present, drums sound especially decent but does seem to lack some bass. Amazing how far tech has come with producing good results with the more affordable options.

Tried it on my phone and loaded right up! Sounds great and impressive that a field recorder can capture everything so nicely.
