My current favorites: •Trader Joe's Original Savory Thin Crackers: round, about 2" in diameter, blonde in color, very crispy •Costco Crunchmaster Multi-Grain Baked Crackers: about 2" across, brownish, hexagons, crispy
Rice is a main ingredient in both. The Crunchmasters also feature various seeds.

I like Ritz and Keebler's Club crackers... but they both have a stupid amount of calories.
4 crackers = 70 calories, 3 grams of fat, 9 grams of carbohydrate, and less than one gram of protein.
Still...

I try not to think about the calories. Give me a tall frozen glass of milk and I could probably eat an entire sleeve of saltines.

If ya ask me, an entire sleeve is "one serving".

If ya ask me, an entire sleeve is "one serving". I buy the “Fresh Stacks” version of Ritz for exactly this reason. The sleeves are about 1/3 the full size sleeve.

Was just talking w a friend tonight and he was telling me about all the kinds of junk food available and their offshoots (like 12 different kinds of Oreos) I learned a long time ago to avoid those aisles in the market, I might buy a bag of Pepperidge farm cookies of they're on sale once every few months, but that's about it. I can easily eat a whole bag of Doritos w a couple/three beers in a night so don't even allow mtself the temptation.

That's my problem. Every few days I'll be in the kitchen and think, "Man! A couple of cookies would be really good right now!" But I have no cookies.
And when I'm in the grocery store, the following routine happens every time. I'll walk past all the cookies, stop and peruse the selections, and then my rational mind takes over. "You dumb donkey, if you buy cookies, you'll eat 'em." That's how I talk myself out of having cookies in the house. The stupid thing is this has become sort of a ritual, with the little devil 'me' on one shoulder whispering in one ear, and the little angel 'me on the other shoulder wispering in the other ear.
"Mmmmm cookies! Let's get some!"
"No, you know they're baaaaaad for you."
"You don't need a lot. How about just one bag? ONE."
"You'll eat the entire bag in one sitting."
etc.
I never come home with cookies.

Carbo bombs. But I'll have a few with chili. Can't have chili without saltines.

Mary’s organic crackers. Somewhat “healthy “ so not the best by themselves. Better dipped in guacamole or hummus.

Saltine unsalted top cracker. Nabisco Honeymade Graham Crackers. Cookies-Oatmeal Raisin are my favorite but at Christmas my wife made some Homemade Pralines from her dad’s old recipe and man they were good!

It's been quite a while, but I used to love eating saltines with butter on them!

Out of the box, water crackers. But the absolute best is “crack crackers” made with saltines and party cracker seasoning.

Triscuits for mounting cheese. Saltines with chowder -- or chili if you don't have any Fritos. Ritz with peanut butter or crumbled up to make baked stuffed fish or shrimps.
My wife bought some rosemary flavored Triscuits at Thanksgiving. Truly heinous. Why would you make a perfect cracker and then screw it up?

Ritz in the short sleeve, I get a couple of months out of a box.
The only sweet thing I buy is the 3oz serving packs of Bluebell Ice-cream “mixed, chocolate, vanilla”. Portion control, plus the 3oz cups are re-usable, utilizing the Meow Mix wet Cat food cup tops, which are a nice tight water proof fit.
My most effective deterrent is I’ve convinced myself that if I’m Jonesing for cookies or other sweets I must make them myself. This kicks in a few levels of deterrents. Like having all the components in the pantry. The time it takes to consumption, I can usually talk myself out of making up a batch.
When I do breakdown it’s usually oatmeal raisin cookies, occasionally ginger snaps. Sometimes I’ll make carrot cake cup cakes, with traditional cream cheese icing.
If I had small pie shells I’d be tempted to make my blue ribbon Apple or Pecan Pie. Even more infrequently I’ll make up a batch of caramel, spanish peanut, popcorn, similar to Cracker Jacks, but I’ll eat this stuff with chopsticks to slow down the consumption “o) I did, after all go from 265 down to 180lbs, nearly 10 years ago, it works for me.

For a Holiday treat my daughter made what she called "crack". saltine crackers with home made toffee melted on top. And then melt chocolate on top of that and let harden. Delicious!

Any fans of Breton crackers here? I have recently discovered them and like them a lot. Like a Ritz but less sweet and more of a nutty flavor.

Any fans of Breton crackers here? Sure -- I like all their varieties. Not a fan of their marketing approach -- the cracker is too big for an appetizer plate.

Carbo bombs. But I'll have a few with chili. Can't have chili without saltines. IMO this is the only time they are good. If I am having my white chicken chili, then tortilla chips go in that.
