Not too long ago I asked a question about turning a closed back Mustang 2 v2 into an open back. Well no one commented so I decided to try. I didn't cut the stock back but used some plywood instead. Not a tough job but I had to be careful. It came out ok and opening the back made an entirely
different amp. I haven't painted it yet but when I do I'll post a pic.

Sorry, just saw this. I made an open back cab once and what I did was clamp different sized boards to the back and varied the size of the opening until it sounded best for my ears then made backs that screwed in place.

Kinda like porting and tuning the old bass speakers causing the air within the enclosure to act as a buffer to augment the speaker spring?
