Adjusted for inflation, a Les Paul Custom cost $3828.00 plus $373.00 for a case! I'd say they have been fairly consistent in their pricing. Consistently high!

Hmm, there are some things in there that I'd never heard of. L5-S. Interesting that they advertise the custom as "the original fretless wonder." Good to know that the pickups are "built-in."

I almost forgot about the L5S, guess I was always thinking about the L6S. The original ad for the Custom LP was called the fretless wonder.

If only one could get them for those prices now. They wouldn’t be able to produce them fast enough. I paid $620 in 1974 for a new Walnut EB-0 bass. Lotta money for a guy making $280 month
