One of my credit cards was hacked last month and we/company busted the guy before he got anything... but on the advice of IT guys i know, i installed a VPN. Moe's doesn't appear to like it...
not a big problem, i just turn it off... just curious, it's the first website i've used that doesn't allow access when it's on...

I can check through the settings to see if this is something I have control over. Anyone else experience this?

According to what I see online, there is no tool for blocking VPN users on ProBoards, so I don’t have it accidentally blocked.
If you want to PM me a screenshot of the exact message you are getting, I can post it in the support forum to see if anyone can figure it out.

You might need to white-list this site.

Yes this is a setting of the VPN service. VPN is going to help you from being hacked. It's just preventing your ISP from knowing where you are going and hosts from knowing your true IP. A VPN is more for privacy. If you use your credit card, it can still get stolen. I suggest using a virtual card number; I know Citibank offers that and some other companies do as well. It provides you with a one time use credit card number. If you are using TOR as a browser, it looks like the domain freeforums.net is blocking it.

According to ProBoards, they don’t do that. YMMV, apparently.

VPN and no issues here whatsoever.

In investigating the problem, I found that many admins from ProBoards sites were looking for a way to block users who are on a VPN. They fear that someone who they banned will just sign up again and they won’t be able to tell it’s the same person.
That seems stupid in this day and age, where many people employ a VPN for security; you’d be limiting the content of your site, and you wouldn’t necessarily even know who would be affected.
On top of that, if you banned someone for conduct or content, it’s only a matter of time before their new identity goes down that path. If it never does, then that person “fixed” themselves and if you can’t figure out it’s them, their presence isn’t an issue.
I don’t know if any of our banned members have returned under. New banner. I do know that if so, they haven’t caused a ruckus.

Data point - I use NordVPN on my iPad when I travel and when I’m at work. (Plus for giraffe porn, but we won’t talk about that.) I don’t normally use it at home.
I just turned it on and am having no problem accessing or posting here.
