Back in the day LaScala speakers were IT. I used some several times. When I bought I tended towards JBL. EV. Anyway we just bought a pair of Klipsch promedia 2.1 THX for our living room puter. Having listened to ARS, ZZTop, the Beatles, Allison Krause and Union Station, and Nickel Creek I cannot ssyI am happy with the purchase. Very nice sound.

Glad to hear. Never had newer Klipsch stuff but been operating Heresy and LaScala forever with small 60s tube amps.

I have my late wife’s Heresy speakers in storage. I should hook them up again.

Before I got married I lived with a buddy who had the large Klipsch Horn speakers with the 15" speaker and horn. They sounded good but not great to me. I suppose I was spoiled from spending so much time in recording studios with great monitoring systems in acoustically tuned rooms. It could have been the room he had them in wasn't conducive to them although it was quite a big room. One of the bands I was in while in my 20's used to play at a nightclub where the DJ system used many Heresy speakers throughout the room and it sounded really good. They did have powered subwoofers in the room as well to heavily thump the bottom end.

Perfectly setup K-horns could be spectacular in some respects, particularly in dynamics. I once heard a reel tape demo of a live marching band passing by and if you closed your eyes you were at that parade, and you felt it in your chest. Probably the most efficient speakers ever built.

I still listen to my Heresy's, I bought in the 70's (1st thing I ever bought on "credit")
Back then, the store that carried Klipsch had a soundproof sound room,.the one Salesman would "crank up" the Klipsch horns,.then just smile,... Always wanted La Scala"s,. Remember hearing a story about how some guy bought a pair,.when the delivered 'em,.his mom thought they were a new washer and dryer,.once she found out what they were she kicked him out of the house!
Saw the salesman, that I bought the Heresy's from, about 15-20 years ago,..he said "don't ever sell 'em".

The sound isn't for everybody, surely nothing like a modern studio speaker but seem to fit my kinda music very well. Hard rock and metal etc. not so much, which doesn't bother me. A buddy's Altec cabinets are the only other speakers around that I like.

Well... I did just order one of their Bluetooth speakers. They're on sale for $64. I've been looking for something like this for the shop.

I bought my first gen Fortes new back in 1986 -- they are the only speakers that I've loved from day one and never even considered replacing. You either get horns or you don't. No speaker can be everything to everyone but these more consistently give me the illusion of live music more often than anything I've ever owned.
That said, if I had a 20' x 30' dedicated listening space, I'd go shopping for a pair of Klipschorns.

When I was in college living in the dorms, I had a decent stereo system and like to play music pretty loud. My neighbors across the hall didn't like our taste in music and would complain regardless of the time of day.
One morning, at about 7am, I wake up to "Burnin' Down the House" blasting on my stereo. We had bunk beds against the far wall with a giant American flag on it so that, from bed, you couldn't see the room. I poke my head around the end of the bed and our stereo isn't on, but the music is L.O.U.D. I open our door and the guy across the hall has gotten a new rig and he's got two giant Klipsh speakers in his doorway pointed right at our door and an insane volume.
That was an incredible rig that got used mostly to literally play "Werewolves of London" over and over.

So Ricky are you saying you are or are not happy? I've been using the 2.1 for many years and they hold up surprisingly well. I can rattle the glass in the cupboard doors!

How do you time align the horns to the rear firing 15s with a passive crossover?

How do you time align the horns to the rear firing 15s with a passive crossover? A flux capacitor. You only need the small one for this. And no DeLorean.

Agree, but I could never live with them with the wide range of music I listen to. They are very limited in their strengths and quite bad in their weaknesses. Got to consider the time in which they were developed.

Years ago in the late 70’s a guy I worked with had a set of Klipsh speakers on his stereo that looked more like something you would see in a band environment. Huge folded horn stuff

They are very limited in their strengths and quite bad in their weaknesses. I respectfully disagree. I also listen to a wide range of music -- Hip Hop/Rap and Electronica is about the only modern genre that I don't bother with. I concede that there are other speaker designs that may offer a bit more refined reproduction in some instances, but I have yet to hear a Klipsch speaker in the Heritage series sound "quite bad" unless there is a problem with something else in the chain -- speaker placement, incompatible amplification, or really horrible CD players. Of course, your ears may vary.
