This was my impression upon visiting the lot Saturday. My 2010 Corolla runs OK but with 170K miles on it owes me not one thin dime on it at this point. It will need tires for inspection and that's not gonna happen.

I'm thinking that due to covid, many people are working from home (or not much at all) and buying or even using a car isn't at the top of the list of things to do. So I would think that dealers would now have lower prices to try to move some merch.

Probably depends on the make/model.
I have a friend in the auto biz and according to him on average used prices are still up. Especially Toyota/Lexus, trucks, Vettes, 80s and 90s BMWs, 80s and 90s Porsches, 80s and 90s JDM cars, specialty things, etc.
Of course I imagine to some extent it's region dependent too.
YMMV

Yeah, I've BOUGHT Toyotas with higher mileage than that!
I think my 99 4Runner had 188,000 on it when I bought it. I bought it for $5000, drove it until 298,000 and sold it for $5000!
Gotta love Toyotas.

Gotta love Toyotas. That's pretty awesome! Not long ago, I checked prices on the no longer made FJ Cruisers. It seemed to me that they are going for prices not that far from what they sold for when new.

I wouldn't sell my 2000 4 Rnnr std trans for less than $7K.. 224K miles , looks great and runs well. Over servicing in the key.
Miata NA and NB prices have gone sky high.
Everyday good condition used cars are higher than last year.
