Ok, I just tried my Artist with two eminence Legend 1258 speakers (that were actually in a fender cab but hooked up to my Katana Artist first without the Waza Speaker, then with one 1258 and the Waza, and finally the Waza by itself). The two legends without the Waza Speaker were a bit dark sounding (as their top end is around 4K+
With one Legend and the Waza it sounded a little fuller than with Waza by itself but had better top end.
Finally with just the Waza is good sounding by itself.
What might really sound good judging by comments you guys have made and the spec's I have read the Eminence Texas Heat having a top end of around 5K but better low end. I may get one sometime and test it. We'll see. That's all I've got!

I preferred my Vypyr 75 with a different speaker. The one that came with the amp was too hi-fi, IMO. From what I heard from the Katana series, I don’t know that I’d bother. Interesing you should mention the first-generation Vypyr. I pulled the 8"s out of a couple of Vypyr 15s and rebaffled them for 10" speakers. One received a 10" Celestion, the other, the speaker from my Pro Junior. Both were definitely louder and sounded bigger. The Celestion excelled at British tones and distortion, the Fender Special design: Fender BF tones. The stock speakers were very neutral and colorless, as I noticed in other modelers including the Vypyr 30 I had. I wish I had kept the C12K out of my DRRI to try out in my Vypyr VIP3.

Since my previous post, I tried an Eminence Texas Heat in a second cab as the Little Texas Neo wasn't available at the time I made the purchase. Great sound, slightly less sensitivity than the Waza. With my back issues I bought a Little Texas Neo and it has as much or more sensitivity than the Waza speaker, sounds very good and weighs a lot less. My back appreciates it.

To those who swapped a new speaker into a Katana combo amp, did you do anything special to deal with the Katana ground wire's smaller spade connector?
