Like most here, I grew up in a time where doctors of the female persuasion were rare. Now, they’re everywhere! About 3-4 years ago our family doctor retired with his Corvette. One of the doctors that took over part of his practice was an early 30’s skinny, long dark haired beauty. I was skeptical but I figured my wife had to deal with a male doctor most of her life so I could deal with a female for a change. She’s been a good doctor and we’ve both been happy with her. However, once a year, I get to drop trau showing all my glory during the annual trip up the wazzoo, usually also in the presence of a student nurse(bonus feature). Not a feat for the timid to be sure! Awkward moments aside, I like the lady doctors.
What say the FDP Panel of Experts?

Yeah, I know that experience. I once went for the old “proctal poke” from the urologist I’d been seeing for a few years and was told he was on vacation and I’d be seeing a nurse-practitioner for my “digit exam”. In the door walks this girl that is a twin for a young Barbie Benton who greases up her fingers and has me present for her examination. I was surprised she could get her fingers in there with things as tight as they were...I really wanted to ask her if she needed a cigarette when she was finished.
Now that the gland is removed I just stick with the dude that arranged that surgery.

They have smaller fingers.

They have smaller fingers. This is definitely true and a distinct advantage! Slender fingers!

Yeah nothing like having ole Dr Sausage fingers doing the probing . I had the Docs PA do the poking once, tall, blond beauty. I wasn't expecting her to be there but oh well. she was gentle!

My "doctor" was a female nurse practitioner. She was great - I really liked her. She was patient and answered all my questions. ...she retired a few months ago.

My pediatrician was a woman. She was awful and it was quite awkward when she touched my balls.

The women doctors I've had have been on average much better than the men. Same with nurses, though there aren't that many male nurses anyway.
I agree, women had to deal with men in their nethers for as long as medicine was a thing, I can suck it up and deal with a woman poking and prodding. Besides, if I were to go in for something like a colonoscopy and it is a woman... well... SHE picked the profession for herself, not me!

My former GP was a young female, and she was the best GP I’ve ever had. My gastroenterologist is a smoking hot lady, which makes her doing my buttscopes a little awkward - but, again, she is a phenomenal doc. I think as a general rule women have a better aptitude to be doctors, to be honest.

Well, I doubt that any of us is likely to get much sympathy about digit diameter from someone whose "nether regions" have had to stretch to accommodate the circumference of a baby's head...

I had 3 options for a GP (1 woman and 2 men) in my area. They were all well educated and based on the limited data available to me selected the woman solely based on hand size. Best doctor I've ever had by a wide margin and she has very small hands.

I would contend the “nether regions “ refers to anatomy designed for the egress of a baby head whereas the digit is invasive and headed in the wrong direction! It is just not designed for that!

The anatomy may have been "designed for it", but the event is still no walk in the park and looks like something out of a sci-fi movie when you actually witness it. I sure gained new respect for my diminutive wife watching her go through it twice.

I have a 85 lb. girl as a doctor who I was pretty intimidated by when I met her. I was bound and determined to find another when I met her. She was hard to take seriously at first because of an unpronounceable name and being cute as hell. The first exam she did in office and I weighed 300 lbs. She had me lay back on the table and listened to heart and lungs and press around on my stomach etc. Then she said to get up from the table. I've always been like a turtle in these situations and have to roll a bit to get up and she just grabbed my arm and was trying to help me. I told her to move back and give me room. She said she didn't want me to fall so she grabbed my arm to assist me to sit up. I was laying there laughing and she wanted to know why. I told her that it was like me trying to pick up a Buick. I was afraid I'd hurt her. She finally backed away and I got up easily. But she has turned out to be an excellent doctor and very focused on any and all problems you might have. We haven't graduated to any finger stuff yet but I figure she didn't get through all her qualifications without seeing a wrinkly butt or two.

I prefer female doctors in general. I think most are more caring than men.

At 60, I'm a big fan of slim fingers. My entry physical was conducted by an older Scottish doctor....

I live in a somewhat rural location, so a lot of new doctors start out here before they move on to a more cosmopolitan location. I have had 7 different GPs over the past 20 years or so, 5 men, 2 women. Dude or chick, it doesn't much matter to me. I'll have a new one in around 3 years or so, regardless.

Uhhh: "entry physical"?
In the context of this conversation, that phrase makes me squirm.
Oh well...at least you didn't say "penetration physical".

My first and only experience with a female doctor and a rectal probe was at the tender age of 19 during my first year of college. She was on duty at the university clinic and I was having some "interesting" pains. She asked if it bothered me to have her perform the examination and I truthfully replied "no". I figured it was up to someone to determine if there was a problem or not. It's possible there were female examiners on hand when I was abducted by aliens and probed, but they all looked the same to me; pale bluish green with big eyes.
Y'all probably can't tell I passed through Roswell NM last week.

Are "gender neutral" colonoscopies still available?
What with lock-downs and all, I reckon I'm kinda outta touch regarding such things...

My doc (male) gave me the "finger" a couple weeks ago, when he was knuckle deep I reared-up and said "honey is that you?" He nearly choked to death laughing.
