These have been out for awhile now, and I've had the Mini Jubilee combo (2525C) for a couple of years. Way past the honeymoon stage. The band that I use it in took a break for the month of December, so I didn't play through it for close to 2 months. First band practice last night (also trying out a new singer), and I was reminded just how good this amp is! A great clean channel, an awesome gain channel, and a crunch setting that I never bother with because it's pretty close to the gain channel.
I also own the JCM800 version, the SC20H, and play it through a couple of different cabs. This is also a great amp, you have a JCM800 that's loud enough to gig with, but can do great tones at lower volumes, also. It does sound better when turned up, of course.
My friend Zenland owns the Plexi version combo, the SV20C. It has a 10" speaker, but you could never tell by listening to it. I've played through it also, and it rocks, to say the least. It probably has the best tone overall, depending on what you're looking for, of course. It also cleans up very well when rolling back the guitar volume. Jumping the channels allows for even more flexibility, just like the original 4 holers.
All 3 of these amps deliver great Marshall tones, they're all different from each other, but they're all great at what they do! Marshall "hit it out of the park" with these amps!

I have been sorely tempted by the SV20H. That model would be right up my alley.
But I don’t need another Marshall. 😂

I’m not going to land one unless it’s a crazy great deal. I have *a lot* of Marshalls as it is. 😜

I really want another JCM800... had a pair of 50 watters back in the 80's.
And my friends' music store is a Marshall dealer.
But I'm really not sure I need more Amps at this time of my life.

But I'm really not sure I need more Amps at this time of my life. 🤔 I always wanted the 50W back then, also! Back then money was tight and I couldn't really afford one, but that was "the amp to have"! Everyone recommended them over the 100W version.

Back when I did play out I had a ‘76 50w - master volume - JMP 2204. I stupidly traded it.

I thought they all sounded great and we've said it before; It's just personal preference as to what you want to hear once you have listened to all three!
I'd love to own the other 2 amps! but, it's not needed. Happy to have what I have.

Ive tried the range in a local music store. If I ever had to replace my '85 JCM 800 combo then thats the way I'de go. And yes, the 50 watters are better!

Well I shoulda known- searched for "Marshall Studio" & you two show up! I actually got on here trying to resurrect the old fdp thread about the matchup you guys did last year (that I missed)!
I'm holding the two of you personally responsible for the gas...
;o)

I just got my first Marshall- an Origin 50 head. I think at this point it will satisfy the itch. Awesome tones at varied power levels.
I understand this is close to blasphemy. Oh well.

Although I also have a Bassbreaker 007 Ltd. Ed, which is on the Marshall side. Sounds awesome. Has a 10" Greenback.

Since this thread last surfaced I joined the club with a SC20H. I like it a lot! Awesome! How long have you had it? In or out of honeymoon phase?! I hate to admit it, but I've barely played through either of my Marshalls since getting a Strymon Iridium. It's just so much easier to take a pedalboard to band practice. I don't plan to sell either Marshall, they're both too good. But....they're collecting dust now.

I’m running it as a stack through Haze angled and straight cabs. That said, I have a hard time parting with Marshalls. 😂

My DSL40 has scratched the Marshall itch at the moment. Eventually I’d like to get a half stack , but right now I’m good.

I still have my DSL40, too.
But I don’t have a problem and I can stop any time I want. 🤪

Last Thursday I took the SC20 (JCM800) to band practice. I had only played it at home up until last week, and once at Zenland's house when we did the Marshall Studio shootout last year.
I played it through my Orange PPC112 (1x12) cab with a V30. In 5W mode, at about 7 on the volume and with gain about halfway, and it was kicking. I can easily carry these two simultaneously; together they're lighter than some of the combos I've carried in the past. Needless to stay, I left it at practice and I'll use if from now on. Until something else comes along, but that's not likely at this point.

Love my SC20!
I was aiming primarily for a SV20, but I landed a ‘76 1987 instead. 🤣

walshb-You Know I would love to have another 1987X! It just isn't going to happen right now! With the wife's injury and rehab, my time is spoken for even though she wants me to play! Their will be time for that later on!!! and if I ever run across the right deal for a 1987 I'll jump on it! Might as well Jump! Jump!

I got this ‘76 for what some newer used 1987s go for. It was my lucky day that day. 😎

Do either of these (SV20 or the JCM one) have much clean headroom? I'm intrigued by these combos, but don't want something which won't allow some level of clean. Mostly play at home, low volume. Does the 'low power' switch actually clean things up? I'd love to try both of these, but there's no marshall dealer who has them near me. And most YouTube demos have folks showing how great they sound cranked up, which isn't helpful.

I haven't noticed any difference in the cleans, when switching. But if you want good cleans, I might recommend the 20W Mini Jubilee, it has a great clean channel, and IMO can get close to the JCM dirty tones. The JCM does clean up pretty well when lowering the guitar volume though.
