Thanks, I'll look it over just out of curiosity.
My home studio limitations are as such that I record everything 24/44.1. I've done an occasional 24/48 with diminished returns. I believe I tried 24/96 once and had problems running some of my plugins. Again, with my modest front end (interface and mics) I don't see the higher bit/sample rates providing me much more fidelity.

cool document thanks for posting! Good summery of some of the stuff I've pieced together randomly. The naming conventions are certainly helpful if you're working commercially.
I also use 24/44.1 almost all the time. The limits of my home-studio (room acoustics, budget prosumer gear) are such that addressing them would make a bigger difference than recording at a higher sample rate, but it is what it is.
I have the most fun part-writing and tracking so try to keep my "artist" hat on as much as possible and streamline the mix/master/production aspect because it's easy to get super OCD about that sort of thing. The trick seems to be if you record everything perfectly on the front end, hi-res music just kind of comes together on its own, which is kind of the unachievable moving target that keeps things interesting..
