“The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced its latest inductees on Wednesday. The Cleveland institution’s more than 1,000 voters—artists, historians, critics, executives—selected Whitney Houston, the Notorious B.I.G., Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, T. Rex and the Doobie Brothers from among 16 nominees.”
Motorhead missed out. There is controversy apparently because Dave Matthews Band didn’t get in despite winning the ‘fans’ ballot’.
I’m trying to care about this so that you don’t have to.

It's the popular music hall of fame. Or whatever evolved from whatever Elvis was doing in the 1950s. The rock and roll of the 1950s was the patriarch of a family tree that has grown many branches. If you see pictures of my great-grandparents, I might not look particularly like any one of them.

It's the hall of lame.
It really means nothing except $$$$ for the owners of the brand. It has very little to do with music.

They really need to do away with it. It's a complete joke. It's not about Rock music at all anymore. I think Lifeson from Rush summed it up best with his speech when they got inducted a few years back.

I live 30 minutes from the Rock Hall and one of our customers, so I go there regularly. The museum is great. Some of the coolest exhibits you can lay eyes on. The actual hall of fame and their voting though? Stupid lame . I get they are trying to keep yunguns coming , bt most of them dont come to see LL Cool J and Notorious BIG, they go there to see The Allman Bros, SRV, Pink Floyd , etc exhibits.
