Agree. It’s rather crude though, and the capacitance of a long cable plugged into there would roll off high end on the amp, and any hum it picked up would get introduced into the amp’s signal path. Also, conversely, as it’s a tap into a fairly high impedance point in the signal path, with a big enough, low impedance signal (eg a desk line out) it could be used as a line in. The amp looks immaculate but its maintenance has been sorely neglected, it needs some time on a tech’s bench to make it safe, reliable and properly functioning. ie the death cap, ungrounded chassis and 60 year old insulation make it something of a potential time bomb; plugged into such an amp, you don’t want to be stepping up to the mic when that insulation fails, there’s no safety net between you and your maker. But even for those folks prepared to recklessly endanger the lives of themselves and those around them, there’s no way those ancient electrolytic cap are still all doing their job, thereby losing gain, introducing hum, and putting the transformers at risk.
