So, my Jurassic flip phone finally went belly up...

My flip p;hone went belly up several years ago I chose to buy a new, but older smart phone. It was one model old. If you want to store music an I phone would work and get you sync with all the apple aps. Just be aware of whether Apple will continue to support the model you look at. Start with your service provider. Be sure they are the service provider, not a third party. I found out that the large store where I did purchase my phone was not the same as the Actual Verizon store, they were like a fancy Mall Kiosk. You can try an Apple store for info if you have one near you. They will know more than Best Buy.

Smart phones are great little pocket computers, and pocket cameras, and texting machines, but I find them lacking for actually making phone calls. That may be due to my spotty hearing, but the flips were much better for hearing and speaking on a telephone. Also MUCH easier to answer and hangup, one handed, without having to look at the screen. Flip to answer, flip to hangup, can't beat it. I wont't go back because I use often use text but I miss my old LG Flip every time I try to have an actual telephone conversation. And, of course, cell phones are all that we have now. The old desk phones you could squeeze one between cheek and shoulder while you grabbed pen and paper and made notes, sometimes most handy for business. OK, just another geezer rant----------

I never had a flip phone. When they were hot I was carrying a Blackberry for my employer. Went from that to a not so smart phone, then another not so and finally yo a smart phone, and on and on. Regardless of brand I think the pocket computer, music source, GPS and phone as well as camera, calculator, calendar, etc is hard to beat. I have never really dabbled in apple, android has always worked out for me. Older new sounds like a plan.
