That was the case with this record roughly 1997. Producer decided to take out some of the bass stuff, I think in parts of the song he didn't want bass on the down beat. Anyway there's a few sloppy moments in bass land but here's what I came up with. cheers soundcloud.com/user-230727602/1-cd-track

Just listened to be sure it worked.....what follows the raven song has nothing to do with me. Anyone have advice about how to prevent sound cloud from playing stuff that was not intended to be in the link?

Wow, that's a really really cool song and a great performance.
As far as order of tracking, in my little bubble world here I usually assemble the drums from EZDrummer first, a scratch rhythm guitar then bass. I'll spend a lot of time listening and tweaking to the bass with just it and drums. On my most recent collab with my old band bass went down last due to logistics of recording. Soundcloud goes into auto launch mode after a linked track. I doubt there's a way around it unless you pay for the enhanced plan. It's one reason why I migrated to Soundclick, but I think even there you'll have a pop up ad/audio while streaming.

No remarks from any one but Mr. Kilter? I don't really give a schitt about how you feel regarding the bass track. I think the drums and piano are killer.

That IS a great track!! The drums and bass are SMOKIN. The piano isn't bad either.

I have aways preferred to add my bass parts last on any recordings I've done with my bands.

Wow, the meter in that song made my brain hurt, lol. That was another very cool song with top notch performances. Tell us about the players. I know you've mentioned that your wife (Marge?) played strings. Is that her? Great stuff Roly.

Well.....Andrea McColeman, piano and squeeze. She's a Humber College grad. Humber's music program is very reputable. Lonnie Powel drums. He too is schooled but I can't remember where. Rusty May violin. Think her background is Suzuki method violin. Bob Hamilton mandolin. Self taught also the studio owner and Producer. Me...self taught. Lots of different people for BG Vox and other instruments. Singer songwriter Len Osland, self taught, he's a gass fitter. Record is called Salty Fingers.

The violin sounds terrific, as does everything else.
Left hand mojo, Roly.

Well.....what the hell, here's the title track. My only effort with a fretless five that I had only owned for a few days. soundcloud.com/user-230727602/salty-fingersBob (the producer) also plays guitar, upright, banjo, lap steel and pedal steel....he has a lot of depth.

I think the violin reverb was a TC Electronic M5000, their flagship at the time.

Guess it should be noted that Len grew up in Churchill Manitoba on the shores of Hudson Bay.....think polar bears. That should offer some incite to the lyrics.

Guess it should be noted that Len grew up in Churchill Manitoba on the shores of Hudson Bay.....think polar bears. Makes me envision "Fortitude", the fictitious Nordic town in the series of the same name. The fretless sounds grand. I remember buying my first bass for home recording projects and thought it'd be a good idea and cover more ground. It went back a day later for a standard Jazz. When were all these tracks recorded?
