Other than the JHS Bender from the Legends of Fuzz series, I really don't know where to start as far as finding a Tone Bender clone.
What are you guys using for Tone Bender type sounds?

I am close to buying a Magnetic Effects Solar Bender. They design all their fuzz pedals to work with buffered and unbuffered other stuff, which is important to me. www.magneticeffects.net/solar-benderBut also check this out...

I started with a Fulltone Soul Bender, which is based off the MKIII (which added a tone cut knob). It was affordable and a good entry point.
Then a couple weeks back I got a Ramble FX Twin Bender, which has a lot of cool features such as bias control (to get a spitty starved transistor sound) and a MKII/MK1.5 switch). I like it a lot.

I have an old DOD Classic Fuzz pedal I use when I'm wanting fuzz tones. I wouldn't call it a Tone Bender clone, though, more of a Fuzz Face or Big Muff Pi copy.
it's not the greatest fuzz pedal in the world, but it gets close to that late 60s/early 70s heavy sound.

It's a great sounding versatile pedal. not sure how close it would be to original MKII and MK1.5 Benders but it'd have to be close, as much a tone variation you'd expect from slight tolerance differences between pedals from any production line I guess. Although I highly rate the Twin Bender I had planned on procuring a Boss TB-2W but that idea died quickly because of immediate rarity and excessive price.

Well after all the tire kicking, I still went with the JHS Bender. Thanks for all the responses though!
I watched all the video comparisons, and hour long history vids, and honestly I got overwhelmed and impatient, so I went with the brand I know.
I have their Bonsai Tubescreamer clone, and their Lucky Cat digital delay, and really like them both, so figured I'd give the Bender a try.
I plugged it up yesterday with my Flying V, through my 90s Fender Concert Amp, and it sounds amazing.
I added a little 10 series Ibanez delay and it's just a killer sound. Super creamy.
Super happy!
If we ever play out live again, its definitely going on my board.
