I have been wondering why the most recent comments to a post don't move to the top of the page? This way when you respond to an topic the most recent thread moves to the top of the page, so that the discussion stays current. In other words, if you are relying to a discussion, that topic moves to the top of that particular part of the topic at hand and stays current to continue the conversation. Otherwise, you have to scroll through all the older posts to remark. On the other forum, the most current statements caused the discussion to move to the top and made it easier to continue your conversation without having to try and find it again. I'm sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere and don't know if it can be remedied by any of the page settings, but it would be nice if it could be programmed to do this. Just food for thought and am not complaining to have all of our friends back and keeping the forum alive!! My many thanks as always! Woody

Thank you for the quick response Chris and 'Hello to you'! The way I found my topic and comments was to find where I had 'participated' and that took me to what I had just posted. I still new to this site and am trying to learn how to navigate it, and hopefully I can be a better participant, because I truly think the FDP was the best, in all regards!! Thanks again, Woody

ProBoards software is different from the FDP but, mostly, in a good way. This site is not the FDP and is not supposed to be. I wanted a way for our membership to still have a place to go to and I found this free site but didn't want to continue to run a forum so mfitz804 is the boss here. He's adopted most of the policies that the majority of us liked and even given us a mustard background which helps with a familiar look.

"But it does move to the top of the page."
Not the thread moving up the list. I think Cal-Woody is referring to comments *in* each thread.
In other words, why not have the newest comment appear as the first one at the top of the thread? Older comments would appear in order, downward, to the very first comment at the bottom of the page.

Personally, I hate that. I want to read threads in chronological order, not reverse chronological order. It was the same way on the FDP. New comments would go on the end of the thread. Here, when you click on New, it takes you to the most recent comment (assuming you use cookies, etc.). I find that very easy.

I’m on two other forums that also have the posts run chronologically. Honestly I never even thought about having them run the other direction.

I like it like it is. I even have Quicken showing the latest transactions at the bottom.

I'm on another forum where it is possible to toggle order of time posted between ascending and descending. I tried changing the order and decided I, also, prefer the chronological view YMMV
