As a few of you may know, I retired from my second career in October of 2017. Since then I've done what the heck I feel like doing (travel, build stuff, build more stuff, travel some more, etc.). I was busier as a retired-retired person than I was when I was working. I had little structure in my life, and besides, it was wearing me out. So just like in my military and federal contractor careers, I got a job with a "three-letter company." Except this time, it's not a government agency, and I get to do exactly what I love doing: making sawdust from mahogany, maple, and other interesting wood. I live near Annapolis, MD. You can probably figure it out

Now I need a “Geno” CU22. I’m thinking if there was ever going to be an official MT2 guitar, this is our in.

You'll be at least the second PRS employee I know. Congrats, and I hope you enjoy the new job.

Nifty!
Having someone who is there for the joy of it can be infectious for co-workers and help raise morale.

Cheers, gents. A huge benefit that I'm hoping to automatically kick in is a reduction in the urge to build guitars at home since I'll be doing it all day anyway. Prior to this, the only way I knew how to actually get paid for having a disease was to enroll in a CDC drug trial. [ahem] Not that I ever did that, mind ..

I wonder if Paul will notice when guitars are going out the door with Tele headstocks?

I anticipate that "birds" will soon be replaced by "giraffes".
I guess those at the 12th fret and above will have to be lying down in order to fit...

Congratulations Geno; that's seriously cool news. Any chance you can get me a discount on the new Joe Walsh signature single cut.
Like, about a $5k discount 😂

It does kind of seem like a “kid in a candy store” type situation. If you don’t mind my asking, what was the hiring process like? Were you required to bring them samples of your work? Did you have to actually build stuff in front of them to demonstrate your skills?

Sounds like fun, sort of. I’ve always thought about working at a guitar shop after retirement but it’s tough to commit to anything being a seasonal employee. Maybe I’ll just chop wood instead.

Totally awesome man. I hope you find joy there. The only two guitar makers I have total respect for PRS and Taylor. Neither will build a compromised guitar. There’s something totally wonderful about working for a company that you and others respect. You and I are both old enough to understand that this means a lot when you get up to go to work. It’s never been about the money for me. Good luck sir.

My first thought when viewing this thread, was, why would a retiree want to go back to work? I, too, have been retired (from my third career) since October 2017, and I like not working more and more all the time.
But then I see, Peegoo, that you are doing your hobby and getting paid for it. That's great!
