Humor is appreciated; actual suggestions are welcomed. We aren't trying to replicate the past here, but if there is a sub-forum that our members really want, I'm happy to entertain the idea of more of them. Adding new ones is simple, I just don't want to clutter up the site.
Post your thoughts.

With the younger musicians using electronic and rap and auto tune, I wonder if having a subforum for those interests might bring some young blood to the site.
Anyway, tossing it out there.

How about bringing back the Jam Forum?

You should be seeing a sale board and a jam forum in the middle, under the heading "The Bulletin Board". Are those not visible to everyone? The settings say they are. Please confirm.

Where are the forums? Probably right in front of me, but I don't see them.

I was always drawn more to the 'technical' sub forums at FDP. The guys there that gave advice on Amp and Guitar Building and maintenance were so generous with their advice. Any chance those could be added?
D'oh!! I see there's a Workshop sub-forum now. I assume that will cover guitar and amp stuff. Thanks.

As MT2 is no longer a Fender specific or even guitar specific forum, I'd love to see a dedicated Photography forum, Audio forum, and perhaps an Outdoors Activities forum which could include travel, camping, etc.
I know a What are you listening to forum is already here but those other three are things I think might generate some additional discussions. Of course, if the group prefers to keep those subjects in Moe's, that's OK too.

Would re-titling the Listening Lounge to include those topics as well be a good idea? I also have concerns about spreading out things that would traditionally be Moe's topics to other forums. I would not want doing so to take the flow of people out of Moe's and into different subs, where those people might contribute on other topics if the photography, travel stuff is all in Moe's. But, I'll consider it.

But, I'll consider it. Maybe just broaden the Listening Lounge to include audio discussions. I have a couple other forums I go to for those specific conversations but NSR, insanecooker, a few others and I had interesting audio conversations from time to time.
Keeping Moe's as a catchall is what I ended up doing on the FDP. Still, I do like the idea of a separate Photography forum. Your call, of course.

I’m watching the photography thread to see how it develops (pun intended). Should it look busy enough, sure.

"Classifieds"
There is a FSOT (for sale or trade) section.
"I would not want doing so to take the flow of people out of Moe's and into different subs"
^^^ THIS is a huge consideration. Too much traffic in one section is better than less traffic in two separate sections.

Putting a vote in for an Amp specific forum. Learned a ton from Willie et al on the Vintage, but an amp forum in general for all makes and models would probably cover the bases.

Howzabout a "Slide" (Bottleneck, etc.) forum? A how-to and appreciation type thing?

I can’t see enough traffic in a sub forum for slide. Seems more like something that could just be a thread in the current Electric Guitars sub.

The percussion section on the old site was basically dead, I didn’t see it as necessary.

So was the keyboard forum, the vocalist forum, and most of them. I think fewer forums here is smarter. Over time, it's easy enough to add a forum if needed. Some of you are so obsessed with giraffes, however... ;o)

I don’t really see a desperate need but maybe an “Other Instruments” forum could catch discussions on everything from Bagpipes to the didgeridoo. All the non-traditional R&R instruments combined could become an active/large subforum. People looking for information on these exotics could possible find knowledge among our widely divers group of musicians, and drummers “o)
