Had my shop do a push-push on a Charvel bass for series/parallel switching. REALLY love the extra growl! Have another project coming in and wanted to do the wiring so it's in series full time, but without the switch? Can I do that? I used this setup for the other bass: S-D Wiring diagram

Hook the ground from one pickup to the hot of the other pickup.
The remaining ground lead goes to ground, and the hot lead goes to the pickup selector switch (if more than one pickup in the bass) or directly to the vol pot (if only a single pickup).

It's how stock Pbass pickups come from the factory (they're series). It's shown in your SD diagram.

Oh. Well, so it's already in series! "Never mind." - Emily Litella.

Yup. Most of the time if a pickup has more than one coil it is in series (like humbuckers), and when they're combined in a guitar with other pickups they end up in parallel. Alternate switching comes into play when you want to mix that up - making a P-bass or humbucker in parallel for lower output tones, or putting the two pickups in a Tele in series.
There might be some noise canceling "single coil" pickups out there that use a parallel dummy coil, but I am not aware of any.
