Got this pickup on a Charvel bass from Ebay, and swapped it due to color (the other P.U. and all hardware was black, so buh-bye!)! It registers a strong 12.49 on my ohm meter, probably due to the oversized pole pieces. It sounded fine, it just had to go for cosmetic reasons! It has no markings at all... Thanks!!

The only p-bass pickup I'm aware of that had the larger alnico rods is the SD Quarter Pounder. They would've come with black covers that fit over the poles. It looks like someone wanted to keep the originals and just laid them on top of the poles instead of drilling them out.
If they looked original I'd say it could be many different things, but the mismatched covers seem to show they were swapped at some point, so it seems likely. That was a pickup that sold pretty well for a while and there are a lot of them out there.

The weird thing is that the original Charvel/Jackson pickups for this bass were black to start with...not sure why anyone swapped the cover to white when they replaced it... There's a Duncan black Jazz bridge pickup on this bass. The other candidate with the really large pole pieces is the 80's Fender Jazz Bass Special (which I have more than one!). I know with the Duncans they usually have a mark or sticker (unless the sticker fell off!). But the Fenders never did. I'll guess I'll put it on the shelf and get a black pickup cover!!
