Hi folks Here's something more current. Same questions apply.... Too muck 10K on the overheads? How's the width? Levels in general? All advice and opinions are welcome. Guy who wrote the song basically can't play the head, so I brought in a friend to get that done. No guitar comping yet so I added the organ parts to flesh things out even though I will have those parts replaced. Please be brutal. cheers soundcloud.com/user-230727602/ch-aug-9

Hat too loud in the side stick parts? ( that's the only time the mic is not muted), rest of the time it's just the overheads. I think I need to add some grit to the guitar in the head....rather confusing...Tele into a healthy dimed 68 Princeton with a Weber sig 12, one would think it should break up more.

Better fix that abrupt mod on the hang.

The balances sound good to me. The hat sounds fine to me. If you wanted more grit from the guitar it just needs something to push the front end a little harder. A clean boost or distortion pedal set to minimum overdrive and the output gain cranked up. It's always better to lean to the less distorted sound rather than having too much. If the track is already recorded then try putting some kind of amp simulator plugin on it and mess with the sound. You can probably help it quite a bit. If you're having another guitar player coming in to redo the solo then try pushing the amp harder.

I'll add that after 24 hrs I still find myself walking through the house and singing 🎵Fire in the night🎵 in falsetto. 😄

"Silk robe, slippers and a pipe of course."
In my world, that's normal.....just me?
It's getting better and I am far from done. What's cool is,... it's a true story.
