To me that's just another gizmo. It may have some merit but any of the devices I have seen in the past that are supposed to correct some problem didn't have a need until the problem was invented. It may be helpful to someone but I don't see it. Kind of like the hand strengthening devices of the past that didn't seem to target the muscles that needed help. Maybe for someone but not for me.

Meh...I have never seen the utility. My problem is not that I am too weak. If anything I need to learn to ease up. My hands are so strong I could bend rebar if needed. Not a skill that translates to noodling.

Why would you use something that immobilizes the fingers? Yikes. Looks more like a soft-torture device you might find in a shop alongside spring clips, ball gags, and rubber hoods. [ahem] Not that I'd know about any of that stuff

In my experience, a book with pictures and some self-discipline are the best tools for developing good technique.

Just get a bass and practice with it that will help you to stretch out your finger span.
