Does anyone have any suggestions on shipping a raw vintage 12 inch speaker? Should I mount to to a piece of thick cardboard or Lauan board before wrapping it in bubble wrap? I haven’t shipped one before and am looking for any tips that would help ensure its safe delivery.

Hey. Something I’m a pro at. 😂
That would work. A 13”x13” x [the depth of the speaker plus an inch or so] works. An extra square of cardboard on the bottom and place the speaker face down on that. Pack it up pretty tight with bubble wrap including between the magnet and the top of the box.

Should I mount to to a piece of thick cardboard or Lauan board before wrapping it in bubble wrap? That is what I did recently when shipping a 12" woofer from my Cerwin Vega speaker for rebuild. When packed the speaker could not move in the package at all.

The best protection I’ve seen, and I’ve seen a bunch, was a square piece of Masonite secured to the speaker flange with zip ties and shipped in a nice fitted box with the back protected with bubble wrap.
