We did three gigs in just over two weeks. Decent pay and such. With the virus uptick-are venues that just started to open going to close again??? Damn😠😠😠😠

Some venues in LA are requiring proof of vaccination.

We've been busy since early June (much earlier than I had expected) and have several dates in Sept/Oct but I'll be shocked if they all happen. Seems Lockdown v2.0 is coming fast. I was pleasantly surprised that some of our venues survived Lockdown v1.0 ; good grief I don't know how they can survive another one.

FWIW: A local performing arts center where I volunteer / sound tech is instituting a "proof of vax to enter the building" policy starting 8/28.
My gut feeling is that venues will not shut down again, but, proof of vax plus masks will be mandatory.
I'm ok with "vax to enter"...

We've been back at our 2 weekly gigs since March. The city recently instituted a mask mandate, but its really a joke as most people remove them upon entering and management doesn’t enforce the rule. But even though I got the jab months ago I'm still wearing a mask, just too many people jammed in there w out them.
