I have a set of Fender Pure Vintage 59's in one of my Strats. It is my understanding that this set is "clock-wise, North Up". This set does not have a middle pickup thats RWRP. If I wanted to replace the middle pickup with the intention of having noise canceling in the 2 & 4 positions, I would have to find a middle/RWRP pickup that is wound counter-clockwise AND south up, no? The clock/counter clock aspect can be corrected by reversing the black and white leads, yes? But the north/south aspect isn't correctable without a flip on the poles which I won't do. Correct? This is also assuming that the replacement middle pickup has the same stagger and output for a proper balance, oui?
I've had a few situations over the years where I've had to reverse the leads to correct phase issues, but I don't think I've encountered the north/south aspect.

As I understand things, all those look to be correct!

Yes, must be magnetic north-south reversed. The clockwise/counter-clockwise thing is something of a red-herring; the current generated by the string motion is AC and so flows both ways, we just wire it so the noise cancels and the different magnets ensure the signals are in phase.
The pole stagger is not important to noise cancelling (but I like the pickups to look the same) and output does not have to be perfectly matched to get excellent noise cancelling. Example: Half a humbucker is a lot weaker than most single coils but together they noise cancel very well.

Yeah, you got it.
Think of it like reversing an image in a mirror or flipping a photo on your phone. You flip the string signal twice and you're back where you started, but the 60hz hum is being picked up by the coil and the magnet has nothing to do with it, so it only gets flipped once and remains reversed, canceling out.

I set out to find a replacement middle pickup for my Fender Pure Vintage 59's that would offer noise canceling in 2 and 4. I thought I found it with Stew Mac Parson Streets(edit: Golden Age, not Parsons), but their wind/pole orientation is wrong. Found a whole set of the Golden Age with an overwound bridge pickup for significantly less than SM sells them, so I guess I'll give those a shot in my Mary Kaye Uglicaster.
