I believe Walsh has/had one. From what I've read, they work great at first but latency issues 'can' develop over time.

I've had mine since last July, no issues whatsoever so far. This is one pedal I'm really glad to have.
We just added a new song at church this week. The song was in E and I spent some time working on it, made all kinds of notes in the music, etc. On practice day, they had to change singers, and dropped it to Eb.
No problem! I brought the Drop Pedal and played the song the way I had practiced it.

If you get one, I think you'll like it.
I did a search on latency with this pedal, and did find one person on a forum that complained that his suddenly developed latency. But he also mentioned that he wasn't using the PS that came with the unit, he was using a Voodoo Lab something or other. I looked up the specs on that power supply, and six of the outputs are only 100ma, two of them are 250ma. The Drop pedal requires 300ma, so that could have been causing his issue.

That is most probably the issue.

My friend Tony uses one in his band.
It sounds great, and I've never heard any latency.

It's good to hear the reviews I read are not the norm.

Anybody know why these types of pedals (octave types) are always so expensive?

It's good to hear the reviews I read are not the norm. Yes, reviews drive me crazy. Depending on where you read them they can be a good predictor, misleading (positively or negatively) depending on who wrote them, did they immediately review after receiving the item or wait until they have used it a while, or even reviews written by a "shill" for or against. This might be a good topic to start: What do you look for when reading reviews?

I prefer video reviews.

I agree, those are the best as we can base our decision on what we hear in conjunction with our likes and dislikes which are different for each individual! Videos are ideal but I am thinking of those reviews that do not have them and what to look for.

I power my DigiTech SDRUM, which requires 500ma, by combining two 250ma power ports on a VL Pedal Power unit. It would be easy to combine two 150mA ports for this pedal. I guess plugging the power supply into the back of the VL would be an option too. I've been interested in the Drop Polyphonic pedal for a while. It sounds like they are worth having.

After all that bragging about the pedal, I had a little scare at church today. I went to turn the pedal on, and it wouldn't turn on! The red light would come on, but then turn back off as soon as I removed my foot from the switch. Well, something I had forgotten about, there's this little switch on the box, that puts it into "momentary" mode, and I finally figured out that was the problem. Whew! Know your pedals guys!

LOL! Most of my pedals could use me spending a lot more time with them!
Thumbs Up Bill!

It's funny, because as soon as it happened, I thought, "I gotta go let them know about this in that thread!" And I didn't want to be the bearer of bad news. Of course, the first thing you think is that something went wrong with the pedal! Glad it wasn't the pedal, in this case.

Well, hate to say this but the pedal is going back. While it works it has two issues, one the power switch is backward (off is on and on is off). I was going to look and see if I could just turn it around but then comes issue #2 the 5th LED does not illuminate soooo back it goes. It was special ordered at GC so I will return it and get my money back.
