I make a trip to a movie theater every few years. It is a pain in the butt. Mostly it is to spend time with my granddaughter.
I'm lucky enough to live in a large condominium that usually has late run movies in our conference room on Thursday night. These attract our older residents. The last movie was the Joker. I was amazed that nobody got up and left. Maybe it is too hard for them.
I usually leave as soon as it is over to avoid the group discussion which follows every movie.

With gigantic home screens and room filling sound systems (along with a pause button) there just doesn't seem to be much point in rolling the dice at a theater:
talkers, babies, sticky floor, food wrapper crinkling, slurping, ads .... not to mention the UFO that last occupied the area your head/neck are now resting against. (UFO = Unwashed Fleshy Object).

Quite a few years ago, we took the kids to a Veggie Tales movie.
The first trailer was for Mortal Combat. Man, I was hot.

I no longer find a lot of movies that catch my attention. It seems like all they come up with nowadays is remakes and backstories like telling the story about how a character or a story began after they have already made a number of movies about it. Everything seems to be computer animated and I am not that much into that. But once or twice a year I will go - when something extremely good comes out.
