OK saw my other post with pic had pic removed, maybe too large so here she is. My first PRS and after a few weeks HIGHLY impressed now I have it all dialed in. The TCI-S pickups are really sweet and the coil splitting probably the best of any of my hummie equipped. Neck and scale are really nice and the fret edges need NOTHING, nicely rolled and no edges. Fit and finish impeccable. LOTS of tone with 24-08 switch using the mini-toggles. Always wanted a P90 and the Custom SE line will be in that list to consider in the future.  |

I agree with everything you mentioned, wrnchbndr.
My only gripe about the SEs and the US-made stuff is the way the nuts are finished.
The strings are usually buried in the slots (the nut is too tall), which makes for a pretty lousy hand feel because of the sharp top edges of the nut.
I just have a hard time understanding why they can get so much right and then goof up this simple thing.
BTW I had a look at a Private Stock that's being produced for Carlos. The finish on it is un-bee-leev-able. I want one...and I'm not even really a Santana fan.

The nut height issue was also present on my import G&Ls. The slots were very close to “great.”

I like the flame and the subtle burst. I had played that one in the store previously. When I contacted them that I was interested and to get a price the guy said they actually had two in stock. So I went to the store and had him pull the other one out. The sunburst on that one was pretty solid in the horns, this one was the better looking to me. So if you're shopping compare..... |
